As we were relegated anyway we may as well have stuck with Marti, cheaper option.

The club announced that he was contracted "to the end of the 2025/26 season".

 

The last day of the Championship season was 2nd May so anything beyond that would be a flagrant waste of money and the person responsible for writing the contract should be sacked for gross incompetence. 

 

There's not a single reason why Gary Rowett should be on the payroll beyond the 2nd May.

more likely to be the last financial day of the season which is June 30th. That’s the day PSR/ financial regulations are counted up  until.  Budget for next season starts July 1st.

Regardless of what team it is, it’s a standard in most European leagues that every single contract signed by a player or manager ends on June 30th

It would be totally unsurprising for us to announce Martin as our new manager before any statement that Rowett has left the club.

 

Maybe we want to keep Rowett as part of Russell's back room staff.

Took us until 27th June to announce Ruud had actually left, probably got another couple of weeks before we hear anything about Gary
