Foxes96 Posted 22 February Posted 22 February Tricky away game. Hopefully Lascelles and Fatawu are back, although wouldn’t take any chances. Begovic Aluko - Okoli - Nelson - Thomas Skipp - Winks Aribo - Mukasa - Mavididi Daka 1
kingpowerout Posted 22 February Posted 22 February Okoli against a team with a high press fills me with all sorts of fear. He just needs to concentrate on defending and not playing out from the back
alanf0x Posted 22 February Posted 22 February 3-1 in our 'tricky' fixture...which Oxford got a point out of yesterday
Popular Post SK3Blue Posted 22 February Popular Post Posted 22 February Skipp and Winks can’t play together in my opinion. 15
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 22 February Posted 22 February It will depend on who is available. Assuming it’s who we know of the only changes I would make are Thomas for VK, Aribo for Monga and BDCR for Mavididi. There needs to be a consequence for him not tracking his man. If Fatawu’s available naturally he goes back in and could do with Ayew on the bench. Hopefully JJ, Ramsey and Lascelles aren’t far away. 1
Fox92 Posted 22 February Posted 22 February Oxford got a draw there yesterday so not reason why we can’t either. Lost to Cov the game before too so an early goal for us would be lovely to rattle them. 1
Clever Fox Posted 22 February Posted 22 February I think we're stuck with the same Squad available as yesterday except with the addition of Laselles. I'd also like to see Aluko come in for his pace at the back. Musaka was excellent yesterday and has clearly stepped into James shoes. Can't wait to see them play together. Daka up top to stretch them and push them back with Fats and Mav on the wings. We got to battle and play from the first to the last minute to have any chance of success. Lets do the unexpected and get a result for a change. 2
jimsmallman Posted 22 February Posted 22 February I think we might go there with a shred more confidence than recently, and they seem to be stuttering a little. Not saying we'll win or owt like that. But could see us getting a point and then beating Norwich as Rowett gets his ideas over more and more with time.
Popular Post Pliskin Posted 22 February Popular Post Posted 22 February Aluko absolutely HAS to play. It’s staggering he hasn’t been picked over Ricardo yet. 17
adejo92 Posted 22 February Posted 22 February (edited) Whats the crack with the winger we signed on loan? I personally think Fatawu is very poor besides the odd cracking consolation goal, but that said, is still the best of a bad bunch in terms of wingers. Monga is alright, but he's still young and going on what he shows, taking age out of it, I've seen nothing to make me go "oh wow, I can see why Barcelona wanted him".. He looks quite lazy and uninterested for such a young talent. Hopefully this other winger is alright but given we've not even seen him yet would suggest probably not?! Anyway, that aside, this will be a tough game but I feel much more at ease knowing Rowatt's in charge for it. Felt like 2 points dropped at the final whistle of Stoke, thought we created lots of good chances and paid the price for not taking them, and poor defending. That said, Stoke should have been home and dry by half time so they are probably thinking the same! Edited 22 February by adejo92

And without Fatawu, we would be in more of a mess than we currently are. He’s raw but he certainly is not poor…. 6

Very predictable and puts the team in danger a lot with giving away the ball / bad passes. Also very clumsy and rash when defending.

This is something I don't understand, all the reviews appear to suggest that he does well when he plays, but 3 managers have now left him on the bench. What are we missing?

Sting Posted 22 February Posted 22 February I think Rowett has about a 45% chance of keeping us up. 3 Middlesbrough v Leicester city 1 This is how I see this fixture planning out. Boro continually pick us apart and exploit our many weaknesses we play well for one half but not two, it's not enough by the end of the game I see a comfortable 3 - 1 home win.
Mickyblueeyes Posted 22 February Posted 22 February The problem is defence. You look at the second goal, and all 4 were crap, in addition to the midfield not tracking back. Success for Rowett is going to be around building in defensive structure but the time he has got, that’s time we don’t have. He needs a leader on the pitch - the only one in the squad being Lascelles. Our ability to get something out of games like this and all important wins are dependent on a leader being present on each position. Having Fatawu, James and Lascelles out would be a kick in the teeth for any team . hoping they’re in a bit of dodgy form and another draw away from home isn’t bad but certainly not ideal for where we are. 2-2 again. 1
