Incredible coup if it were to happen. Share the scepticism of others of why he’d sack European football for us though - despite being of the opinion we have a lot more pull than many of our fans think right now.

We didn't have pull in the PL after being promoted with almost 100 points.

We didn't have pull in the PL whilst 16th.

We didn't have pull in the Championship when expected to challenge for title or playoffs.

We didn't have pull in the Championship when bottom half.

But yeah, we'll have pull in League One - after a 3rd relegation in 4 years, becoming the first team to ever be relegated from the 2nd division with the highest wage bill and becoming only the 5th team ever to be double relegated from the 1st division.

Schreuder’s N.E.C. very much have the philosophy of attack is the best form of defence.

its almost like they looked for the stark contrast of the last appointment

To be fair that would be very on brand.

thats my thoughts too, given NEC are third atm ahead of Ajax....

wouldnt shock me if he went to one of the bigger clubs in Holland within the next year

he looks the type we'd need on paper but i doubt he'd come

Depends if we’re viewed as a better stepping stone into what he wants next.

managers who want to manage top clubs love a job where they can dominate, as it showcases what they could do for a big club. A mid table club makes it hard to demonstrate that. Kompany got the Bayern job through demonstrating how he can dominate in a league when he has the best players.

if you look at mckenna, he has obviously proved himself but after his league 1 campaign with Ipswich he was already being linked with top jobs. It does seem incredibly unlikely, but you never know with football. Some big managers have moved to England and taken unexpected jobs in the last few years.

100% not true. Top and Rudkin won't even have realised we're relegated yet. Top probably thinks we still have a chance of the playoffs. No way on this planet either have the foresight to start identifying out next manager and actually appointing someone before the end of June. Rudkin still needs to go on his summer holidays before he can even contemplate firing up Outlook and making any phone calls.

Would be our first Dutch manager.

Sadly, not our first Dick though.

I know it doesn’t help with the joke, but have we forgotten RVN so soon?!

I mean, he sounds great - but why the **** would he come here?

For a manager that isn't in a position to get a premier League or top end of the championship job we will look like a great prospect from the outside.

Whether he falls into that category I've no idea.

Think about when Leeds went down to league 1. The chance to manage a latent giant with greater resources than other teams on the division, and try to build a dynasty, will that will have a lot of managers licking their lips - though whether our financials do provide greater resources we shall see.

Another name we could be linked to is Wil Still brother, one just been sacked by Watford. Wont be surprised if he gets, next appointment maybe "cheap option" and this Ed Stil may fall into catagory. Typical Rudkin... we couldnt get Wil but we got his brother lol.

So Dick gets PEC Zwolle promoted back to the Eredivisie in 2023 playing his attack football, moves to Spanish Club Castellón in 2023 and gets them promoted up too LaLiga 2 playing his attack football, gets sacked in 2025, moves too NEC and gets them challenging for CL football playing his attack football.

clearly got something about him, unsure of why he got sacked the season after getting Castellón promoted?

otherwise looks solid

The Dutch Kevin Keegan?

I'd never heard of him so asked ChatGPT which English team would be the closest in style to a Schreuder team. It suggested Brighton under De Zerbi.

There's a third Still brother! Assistant at Club Brugge currently https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolas_Still

I think he will be out of our reach now. Should have gone for him last season, I really rate him. But what I will say, is that just because someone manages an under 21 side that doesn’t mean they will play youth.  He has to play youth in that because it’s his job but as cooper proved, when they have the option… that might not translate.

Is there evidence of him playing a younger player with more promise but maybe not as immediately good for the under 21s? Or did he stick to the the older options?  I’m sure someone would know because that’s the bigger indicator. It he was happily having an 18/19 year old in the u21s then he’s more likely to take a gamble.

I think you could be right, but I think for many championship clubs the gamble is just too big, all speculation on my part, but I'd imagine many of the clubs in the division who predicted to be fighting for top half, wouldn't necessarily want to gamble on a new manager who is unproven in club football, and the clubs who may have taken a gamble, would not have been a big enough move for LC given his growing stature.

Despite the mess we are in, we are now a massive club in L1 with ridiculous facilities, which if we can keep them open could be a selling point, maybe Big club + L1 + being able to rebuild a squad could be a tempting offer?

Regarding the last question about playing promising youngsters over slightly older U21 players that's a good question and I don't have a clue, would need to research that!

A few things on this.

1. Nixon on us is either very wrong or he brings bad news (Ayew).

2. The caption reads as if we’ve seen him about and think oh cool - we really like him. Let’s ask (like Enzo) but really any back room work (as usual) - surely you put the feelers out to find out if he is interested before seeking talks.

3. We have this chaos every year. Multiple names and then someone out the blue no one wants

They’d find him but they’d also think he’ll be interested in working here under rudkin.
RVN will mark his card.

Top and Rudkin would see it as a challenge to totally divert him from his successful ways.

In saying that, I very much doubt Rudkin could point to where Netherlands is on a map so can't see him being able to negotiate this appointment successful.
