Foxin_Mad Posted 8 June Posted 8 June (edited) 100% Sure he will walk the league with Burnley next year if he goes there. I don't like the guy but he is probably better than whatever dross Rudkin has lined up for 2nd choice. This guy who was Rudds assistant at Man Utd, we tried the main man, lets try the coach as he a bit foreign and beat us once. Clearly still on Rudkin recruitment logic. Edited 8 June by Foxin_Mad

Also I think Wolves and West Ham with have something to say about the the chances of Burnley walking the league

We are happy with a loser.

In 24 we were always likely to head straight back up, Ipswich has a tremendous amount of luck to stay level with us and Leeds were very good, and went up the year after. I can see West Ham struggling, not sure about Wolves yet, they do have slightly weird owners. Edited 8 June by Foxin_Mad

LFC bear Posted 8 June Posted 8 June If you can dodge Veg Lasso & his dud number 2 Mike “The Carlisle way” Williamson because they managed to blag the Burnley board, consider yourself very lucky. It’s not a bullet you’re dodging, it's a Scud missile. The guy will keep you at league 1 and mediocre as ****. He was painfully bad at Rangers.

I mean its catch 22 because with Top and Rudkin making decisions with Mr Yes installed as Technical director, its likely most of the 'coaches' they choose will take us to League 2, like a league 2 version of Cifuentes.

Pepe guacamole is the worst coach you possibly get right now. His “philosophy” is to leave you wide open to losing goal. Horrible football. Suicidal defence tactics. Avoid

Marti Cifuentes, pretty much identical no running, no pressing, no shots, unable to defend, pass it across the back until you lose it. He sound just what the board are after to carry on our elite transformation under Rudkin,

Popular Post kingfox Posted 8 June Popular Post Posted 8 June Russell Martin to Burnley. Alan Sheehan or Ryan Mason to Leicester. 10
cruzFOX Posted 8 June Posted 8 June Checking back in after a much needed mental break and the news is the club is taking to Russel f-ing Martin! Jeez. well if it is to be him and he gets us out Of div 1 I’ll support him if I to. god help us if this plan Goes belly up. 😳
Gazza M Posted 8 June Posted 8 June We are going spend ages on this Russell Martin contract which will go tits up and then have nobody in background and end up begging Rowett to take it. 1
lcfc_forever Posted 8 June Posted 8 June Not supportive of Martin getting the role, but if it appears he is the preferred candidate, the club needs to give him a time limit for responding and not get messed around. They can't afford any drift again - the manager needs to be installed asap to start planning as a huge overhaul is needed.

The fact is you can make calculated risks on up and coming managers based on proper research. Which is the club’s job. Which it doesn’t do. I’m not clued up either, but the club should be. Loads of managers are better than Martin, but if they do absolutely no scouting in the lower leagues or abroad then we’ll never know who they are until they are picked up by Brighton or Bournemouth. Well-run clubs take risks on young managers who haven’t reached their ceiling yet. Yes I know I’m a broken record but being in League One is not the excuse for hiring Martin. People were making similar arguments for not attracting good managers in the Championship, even in the PL. The club seems to think they above scouting lower divisions now.

Drag it out longer and we get more desperate and make him the highest paid manager in L1 history by quite some margin. He gets a bumper pay out just after an international break (obviously) next year. Can't wait for us to sink our entire TV deal for the year on sacking BTEC Brendan in November
