It is ranked 114th strongest league in the world by Opta, for reference, league two is 91st.

There is a striker in my village Team aged 30 that is probably better than a Maltese League striker.  I will drop the Retirement Team a WhatsApp to see if they want to add him to their ‘when we really are desperate’ listing.

I havent seen any outlets anywhere mention it, but I stumbled across him and thought he would be something very different to what we have got. 

 

Copenhagen have him out on loan at the minute, but if you dont ask you wont know I guess

Six transfers Leicester City can complete this week with wonderkid eyed and striker loan

Leicester City have just over three weeks of the transfer window remaining, with progress in specific deals expected to ramp up over the next few days.

Managers across the English Football League have referenced the difficulty of getting moves over the line this summer. With the window not closing until September 1, more transfers will be completed in the next couple of weeks and Leicester will be as busy as ever.

 

Russell Martin has signed seven players so far, with Conor Chaplin, Alex McCarthy, Christian McFarlane, Liam Cullen, Tommy Watson, Wes Burns and Franco Ravizzoli all arriving. There have also been several departures, including Abdul Fatawu and Harry Winks.

 

Admir Bristric
Bristric is at the top of the list and for obvious reasons. It's been over a week since his name first rose to the surface and following work permit issues, the striker is set to move to the King Power Stadium.

Reports in Bosnia have claimed the deal is done, with Leicester paying Olimpija Ljubljana around €1.15m (£990k) plus add-ons worth €2m (£1.72m) for Bristric. He is expected to sign a four-year contract.

In an ideal world, City would have got the centre-forward through the door before last weekend to give him minutes against League Two opposition. That hasn't been the case, so it remains to be seen if he'll feature at Notts County.

 

Louis Page
Manchester United's pursuit of Louis Page came out of nowhere on Sunday, with BBC Sport initially reporting that the Premier League side were pushing to sign the 18-year-old. It shouldn't be a surprise to any City supporter, though, as Page has suitors from the elite academies in England.
Arsenal and Aston Villa are also keen, with the former reportedly having a bid rejected for Page. United are the frontrunners and since the appointment of Jason Wilcox as their Director of Football, they have invested in young prospects to build a strong spine for

It's currently unclear whether City will entertain any interest, or if Page wants to leave at this stage of his career. There is also the possibility that Page leaves the club permanently before returning on loan to continue his development - which would be better than another season in the academy at Old Trafford.

 

Harry Souttar
The future of Harry Souttar has turned into quite the saga. Sheffield United are pushing to land the centre-back and have already failed with an opening bid, with Martin insisting he wants to keep him at the King Power Stadium.

Ben Nelson's injury won't change Leicester's stance and Souttar could leave if the Blades meet the valuation. Reports on Sunday claimed United had submitted a second offer for the Australian, but the fee is understood to be short of what City want.
Souttar captained Leicester over the weekend and is a player Martin has raved about since he returned from the World Cup. The Championship side isn't expected to stop in their pursuit, so it's one to keep an eye on.

 

Finley Burns
Ben Nelson's ACL injury means Leicester will have to be active in the defender market now. They were also considering their options in response to the speculation around Souttar and Nelson, but they now have to bring at least one in.

Finley Burns is a player that hasn't been officially linked with City, but is one that makes sense. Currently at Manchester City, Burns worked with Martin at Swansea and spent last season in League One with Reading.

The 23-year-old isn't in Enzo Maresca's first-team plans at the Etihad Stadium and has to find a new home to kickstart his career. With his future at the Premier League uncertain, a move could potentially be one to explore.

 

Shim Mheuka
Bristric strengthens Leicester's striker options, but he isn't expected to be the last centre-forward to join. Given the circumstances around the club, the loan options from Premier League outfits should be where they look.
Shim Mheuka has made his Premier League and European debut at Chelsea and enjoyed a fine 2025/26 season. He scored 18 goals in 19 Premier League appearances and another five in the UEFA Youth League.

The 18-year-old is reportedly set to be loaned out this season with EFL clubs showing interest. As a potential partner or alternative to Bristric, Mheuka is the sort of profile the Foxes could look to explore.

 

John Souttar
One central defender that Leicester have been linked with is Rangers' John Souttar, brother of Harry. For the third consecutive game, the 29-year-old was left out of Derek McInnes' squad on Sunday to fuel further speculation about his future.

Reports last week claimed City and Swansea City were battling it out for the Scotland international's signature. Nelson's injury may push Leicester to move, with Souttar having just one year left on his deal at Ibrox.

It's another player that Martin is well-aware of after their brief time at Rangers.

Concern on Burns is he's extremely slow. I thought he did well a few years ago on loan but may have stagnated. Reading fans were not complimentary about him last season.

I just think he's an available centre half that doesn't mind having the ball at his feet and is known by the DoF. Would be a suitable Souttar replacement if he did go. Cheap with a high ceiling too.
