What goals in games you were at have you missed for varying reasons?

Or what games have that you had tickets for you have missed? Im not talking about this season where people missed games cos they couldn't be arsed, im talking traffic jams, trains/flights cancelled, car broke down etc.

My first ever game at Filbert street was my 11th birthday, 3-3 draw against Arsenal and I missed Walsh's late equaliser as my dad made us leave early  cos we were losing. Never forgave him for that.

4-0 win a pride park 1998, missed the first goal as we were late into the ground.

York fa cup match 2001, missed the whole game as me and my dad were stuck in traffic on the m6 (we live in the north West).

Nov 98 1-1 draw with Coventry away. Totally missed that Sinclair had been sent off and was sat getting frustrated next to my dad wondering why we were playing so poorly against Coventry. Just thought hed been subbed off. My Chris Kamara moment 😂

I missed the keeper scoring against Kevin Pressman thankfully, didn't make it to the game on time and from what I recall it happened fairly early

One of my mates couldn't make the United 5-3 game because he was in the dog house with his girlfriend and gave me his ticket lol

I kind of missed Walshy' play off winner against Derby. Iirc, a shot had just come off the bar and I threw my hands on my head and looked up to the heavens.

Almost immediately, I then heard the roar and those around me going crazy.

I missed Huth's opener at Man City, stuck on the M6 (obviously) and we parked up just as it went in.

Almost missed Gary Parker's pen against Palace in the play-off final, because my dads mate poked me in the eye with his flag celebrating being awarded it.

To add to my original post, a couple of other slightly different things for me were being at games and not being able to celebrate goals as I was sat in the opposition end.

Great escape season at Burnley, me and nephew sat with burnley fans pretending to be gutted when they missed the pen then next minute vardy scores and our fans opposite us go wild while me and my nephew are sat on our hands hoping to not get battered.

Also at Burnley 2019, Morgan scored a 90th minute winner and again, absolute carnage in the away end while me and my nephew sat on our hands again. Has put me off sitting in the opposition end for games as its Just not right to not celebrate when your team score.

Martin Taylor made the initial save from Ormondroyd and it fell to Walshys left foot.

I sat in the Everton end when we lifted the premier league. Told them early on that I was a Leicester fan and to be fair they were absolute class with me, even bought me a couple of drinks. It got increasingly awkward with each goal going in though lol

Posted this before Leicester 4 Man U 3 May 1963

Ken Keyworth and Denis Law both got hattricks

37K + lock out took us up to 1st place in the top Tier.

Brother got in. I was outside with hundreds maybe thousands of fans being told what was happening from fans on walls etc.

Same here but not sure I missed anything.

Missed Vardy's goal at Bramall lane, must have had 7 pints pre-match and had to have a shit in what looked like a Paesschendale khaki.

I was ill for the Rennes H game, not the single greatest night but still a shame to have missed it.

Oh, wait - missed BOTH goals at Spurs in 24/25, not normally one to go for a pint at HT but I was so dispirited and convinced we wouldn't score, was trudging up the stairs as the first went in only to realise we'd scored again

I missed Julian's goal in the Swindon playoff final. I'd completely thrown my toys out the pram at three nil and not even looking like scoring, I wanted to go home but my mates wouldn't so I went into the concourse to ring my missis on the payphone, whilst I was talking to her, Julian scored so I went back.

That Thommo goal is still the most thrilling single moment I've ever experienced in 50 years following the club. Goosebumps.

Mark Robins scoring away at Ipswich in the league cup quarter final, in about 97. First goal I ever missed, but the last few seasons i've missed loads after going for an early beer normally, including the Fatawu 70 yarder.

Did make me laugh the Ruud season when we had Newcastle on a school night. I was a little late, went straight to the toilet and heard a big cheer but couldn't quite work out who scored. Walk out the bog and there was a TV screen showing Ruud shouting FFS at the team, mystery over

Missed the 3-1 champions match v Everton

So true re Thommo.  The build up to the goal leads to a brilliant crescendo. Bit like the ending of A Day in the Life by the Beatles . Still get the tingles watching it.

Missed most of the games since the  rapid decline, although when I did make it we won.

I think everyone just needs to buy me a season ticket each season and we'll be winning the premium league again before too long.

Had been to bout 90% of games from 2009 to 2019. Cut to October 2019 and really couldn't stomach a Friday night game away to Southampton for some reason.

Got some beers and settled down to watch the game. Saw the sideways rain on TV as the teams came out and felt sorry for the poor lot that had travelled down, glad it wasn't me for once.

Southampton 0

Leicester City 9

Superb.

Missed Forest’s goal we gave them in the League Cup in the 2007 replayed game

Couldn’t believe it as the atmosphere in the home end there was pretty flat immediately after. Don’t think I could see a scoreboard from the lower tier either, and had to text a mate watching at home getting him to confirm

My lad travelled up from Cornwall to watch Leicester v Ipswich this season. He left his seat a few minutes before half time to go and get a pint and missed Fatawu’s worldly 🥴

I missed Wood's debut against Huddersfield because I was deathly ill.

On a similar note, 2015/16 we were amazing on the road...the only away game I went to was Hull, in the cup, featuring the obligatory penalty miss from Mahrez.
