In comparison, Wolves hosted an event where the manager and chief exec were grilled by fans on what was going to be done next

And will that serve them better? :dunno:

Top just never going to change he does not have a clue how to run a business. Rudkin totally out of his depth. So not telling the fans anything is just standard for them

Starting to wonder if Willy Caballero might be interested. Might explain Enzo and him being at the Norwich game.

Would he not be going with Enzo to Man City next summer?

How was Cooper keeping us ‘mid-table’? Don’t ever convince yourself that he and his brand of football were ever going to keep us up. He’d been hugely fortunate to pick up points during his tenure.

At least he recognized that our team (after promotion) did not have enough talent to play free flowing football throughout the whole pitch. His strategy was ugly, which is that he bet on one side of the pitch and devote players to that side while simply defending the other side - that may not have been a bad idea.

RVN wanted us to play like Man United, but he was so rigid he didn’t see that we didn’t have the quality throughout the squad to play that across the whole pitch.

I think that has been our downfall this season too.

In the last few seasons, we had players that were just not good enough at any level playing positive football (like Hamza, Ndidi (the time for a destroyer without any ball control skill was gone), Thomas) and they constantly give the ball away / back pass / wait for opponents to settle / etc that made us so easy to play against. Yet, these players continued to be in the team, earning bigger wages than they should. Maresca was smart enough to see that and played players according to their attributes (this is why Ndidi was played up front; to be a destroyer up front where losing the ball is not such a big deal), but he would have needed new players in the PL.

The lack of managerial appointment i can just about accept and understand, the lack of communication other than the post confirming our relegation and that we will be playing in league 1 next season, is baffling and massively frustrating. Just communicate.

The norm for our club under King Power, which is the exact reason why I started this thread.

Agreed, in reality we are not going to receive regular updates on how are search for a new manager is progressing, however there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that there shouldn’t have been an announcement in regards to Rowett, Davidson and Sadler all leaving at the end of their short term deals, thanking them for there efforts and also equally baffling is the lack of confirmation as to the players out of contract who will be leaving at the end of their contracts.

Yet again it demonstrates a clear disregard towards the fanbase and a determination to continue to not communicate and drive the disconnect even deeper.

We never publish our retained list this early, so it’s not that baffling that we haven’t done so this time. And when it’s published it won’t  tell us much we didn’t already know anyway.

The lack of announcement re: Rowett’s departure very likely means he’s being considered as a back-up option if none of the club’s preferred candidates works out. He clearly isn’t first choice or he would have been appointed by now, but he’s probably not been completely discarded as a candidate while the club is still in talks with other people. I agree this is worrying, but I think it’s probably what’s happening.

I would think the Rowett's contract has expired.  Nothing has been said because he's put his name forward as permanent manager and is being considered.  I suspect with the finances we have (or don't have), we're actually biding our time with making an appointment, even if it's Rowett.  We should be able to get pretty much the whole of May and June out of the way without paying a manager, which is money in the bank.  As frustrating as it is, we are now so tinpot that that's the only reasonable explanation I have for the total lack of urgency.

I think if we haven’t had a retained list by early June after the season finishes then it’ll be very strange.

In terms of the manager I’d expect we’d start to hear some names etc… after the season finishes too. If we don’t start hearing links and speculation in early to mid June I fear that more might be happening that is being let on, and not in a positive way.

Bump. The deafening silence continues after almost 6 weeks.

Maybe we're waiting for the right man to become available (e.g. Challinor) but history tells us it's just a repeat of previous failings.
