Free Falling Foxes Posted 23 August Posted 23 August 20 minutes ago, DJ Barry Hammond said: Done some stat digging. I make it that Martin has managed just 9 wins since the start of 2024/5 season, with a lot of those wins coming in cup games. That’s a record of; • Southampton - 3 wins out of 19 games (vs Cardiff, Stoke & Everton*) • Rangers - 5 wins out of 17 (vs Panathinaikos, Viktoria Plzen, Alloa, Hibernian, Livingston*) • Leicester City - 1 win out of 3 (vs Northampton That’s 9 wins out of 39 games. The sides marked with a * represent a league win; so across this period there has been only 2 league wins (from 24 league fixtures). That’s right - just 2 league wins since 17 August 2024! There we have it. Our next manager will be from one of those clubs. They couldn't even beat a RM side but Rudkin and Top will see them as an obvious choice. 1

Your first home game (I'm not counting Northampton with the one stand open nonsense), and after 55 minutes the crowd are already booing your decisions and chanting "you don't know what you're doing". MK Dons up next and then 3 games in a row against teams that should be in the promotion hunt this season, strongly feel like we'll be 6 games in and on 2 points maximum - his position will be untenable before the clocks change Fingers crossed. I've seen enough already from him. Get him gone. 2
Dames Posted 23 August Posted 23 August I really hope that the board have been smart enough to put a clause in his contract that if they arent in x position after x amount of games they can terminate for a nominal fee. If we arent in the automatics after 10 games it will be abject failure imo.
Donwebbio Posted 23 August Posted 23 August He is a massive jar of Smarmite. Total fraud talking about humility and growth.

He's their man and they'll back him until it's impossible to, which is why it's the fans job to make it clear he can't stay 2
Benji Posted 23 August Posted 23 August Surely no one is surprised. The appointment was predictable a year ago. The outcome too. 1

Well the most relatively protected anyway. He's their vision. Their man. 1
mod hero Posted 23 August Posted 23 August He’s certainly comes across as humble when he starts talking over OPA pre and post match interviews. Arrogant ****
Muzzy_no7 Posted 23 August Posted 23 August Start of last season Marti got it horribly wrong with his centre backs. Exactly the same happening this year.
Samilktray Posted 23 August Posted 23 August By Christmas we’ll probably have a manager in place Barnsley fans thought was crap lmao

Please don't put the words ... board and smart in the same sentence .... due to the fact our board is as thick as pig sh1t and totally inept
ARM1968 Posted 24 August Posted 24 August The thing with Brussel is, he’s too stupid to realise how dumb his tactics are.

His only objective is promotion and from the evidence of the first two league games he has not delivered. His style of play is simply not suitable for league 1 and I know suspect neither his he.

First game of the season we won but were absolutely shite against a dreadful Sheffield Wednesday side. I wanted him gone at half time. Edited 24 August by Rubbersoul
supernuk Posted 24 August Posted 24 August 10 games is when I'll give the guy a full review. Let's be honest though a pretty honking start. For me would have to see 5 wins from the next 8 and I can't see it happening unfortunately.

BenTheFox Posted 24 August Posted 24 August You only have to scroll a few pages back to find me claiming that talk of sacking a manager after 2 competitive games is silly. He's now had three, and they've all been abysmal. He needs to show me something within the next 4 or else it's cheerio as far as I'm concerned. With 40 league games to go, this season could still be salvageable under a different manager if it goes tits up.
Spanner73 Posted 24 August Posted 24 August Argh it’s this one’s fault now Just like all the other ones before him
OwnGoalJames Posted 24 August Posted 24 August (edited) I didn't exactly expect us to hit the ground running, but it's been a bad start. The Northampton cup game was a bit 'preseason-ish' , we won and that was alright in that moment. The Notts County draw, first game of the season, expected more but perhaps take a point in the context of the game. But this last game, I expected us to step forward and if anything it was worse. Russell Martin has an enormous task on his hands already. Ipswich away tomorrow, I fear we are going to take an absolute battering. And if we see a similar shower of shizzle away at Mk Dons to what we saw on Saturday, he will be under pressure before a ball is kicked in September. That's how I see it Edited 24 August by OwnGoalJames 3

The common denominator is they are shit. Yes, the owners are to blame just as much, but RM is a genuinely bad manager. He's entered a basket case of a club but he's still not worthy of this job.

Just not sure some realise it yet though. Sideways backwards keep ball with a squad not fit to play it. And if sacked more than likely a lesser version of RM. IF/WHEN he is sacked is it not going to be a frying pan and fire 🔥 moment. Personally our only hope this season is a quick sale. But can we really see that happening?
