Genuine question; Is there anyone on this forum that would be against sacking off Martin and bringing in Challinor?

I don't think so.

Don't be silly.  I have never heard a single voice in support of Rudkin.  You're making shit up to support the ridiculous statement you made yesterday.

Alright....calm down big man behind your keyboard...!

My statement was inferring that there are those who are always screaming for the managers to be sacked before they ever scream so loudly for Rudkin to be fired.....and i stand by that!

Thats not quite the same as saying they are supportive of Rudkin, its just suggesting that they continuously campaign for our succession of failed managers to be fired without ever stopping to ask WHO is responsible for this continual merry-go-round of s**t appointments. .

And your latest statement that not having a manager would be an upgrade on Martin indicates yet another new manager on the horizon in the near future, no doubt to be appointed by the same person who appointed all the other failures.

Frankly, im tired of people on here complaining about how s**t our managers are....i thought the penny might have dropped by now, but obviously not!

definition of insanity....."doing the same thing over and over again and expecting to get a different result"

Lennon was and is a has been. No thank you what so ever in terms of managing us. Great player, not as manager.

Exactly.

I find it amazing, how hard we seem to make it look, to run a football club. Staggering.

These people at the top of OUR club, must love to waste money.

It really is not that hard to plot a path to promotion.

If you get on the wrong train, get off at the first possible stop - We seem to be at the fourth or fifth stop and we're still dithering as to whether or not to get off. Mental

Best outcome. Knows the league, winning mentality and doesn't play faffy football.

Yes from me

Why is everybody talking about Chillinor specifically? Not arguing with the first bit of your question, just unsure how herd mentality has ended up with the entire website seemingly wanting a manager they probably have no real personal knowledge of. Not saying you, I'm just saying how many people have closely been watching Chillinor? He may be a brilliant option, I have no knowledge or opinion either way, just surprised more names aren't being bandied about.

You know that, I know that, the whole world knows that except Top, Rudkin and Mccarron. Would mean hands up they are wrong so early in to Martins tenure.

The interview was just shocking the pair did which RL broadcasted whilst 3-0 down at HT to Peterborough.

I guess it's because it doesn't take much effort to look into a managers career to see that he would be a good fit for our current predicament

I wouldnt be against sacking off Martin and bringing in a wooden spoon. I feel like it'll have more personality and be more effective.

Cooper was not the answer. Like Martin, he was very much a wrong option at the worst time. People keep bringing up that he steered us above the relegation zone, but that's being disingenuous. We were comfortably among the three worst performing teams under him, both observationally and statistically. We had some late flourishes in games that got us points after we'd been nowhere for 70+ minutes. Under him we bought some absolute dross, with El Khannouss being the only one we didn't lose a lot of money on.

Rudkin/Top, you can very much argue, failed by sacking Rodgers too late. Then he/Top made the Enzo appointment which was a resounding success whichever way you look at it.
Neither probably had too much say in Maresca leaving for Chelsea, so that was hardly a fail.

If Rudkin was to be sacked then, it would have be on the back of employing Cooper who was failing, so I just don't see what point you're trying to make here.

I cant disagree with your first statement as i had given up watching by that stage and your comment does echo much of what my mates have said about performances but from the outside looking in, Coppers team were ahead of expectations in terms of points gathered at the time he was sacked so the question is....What exactly is it you want to see as a supporter?

Personally, in a league where we were tipped for relegation, id rather have seen us gain points with late flourishes than dominate games and lost.....but then again, ive been following city for over 40 years so i remember what it was like to be the underdogs back in the old days before some of our "newer" fans became so entitled......do you remember what happened to Alan Curbishley at Charlton???

As for Rudkin, i dont see what point your trying to make here either?

I didnt suggest he should have been sacked just because of Cooper.

By that time, we had already been relegated from the PL with one of the most expensive playing squads/wage bills ever to be relegated, we were hemorrhaging money as a business, player recruitment and contract negotations had been dreadful for a long period and we had rapidly become a sinking ship/business even at that point.

Post Cooper, he has appointed Van Nistleroy, Cifuentes (Andy King as interim) Rowett and now Martin in just a 2 year period.....all of who failed spectacularly (jury still out on Martin!)

Do you really think my anger at Rudkin is based purely on his appointment and the playing style of Steve Cooper?

If Challinor is so desirable why is he currently out of work?

Does Rudkin have him on standby or are we going to wait til Challinor joins someone else so we can sack Brussel and hire another chump instead?

He has experience in this league.
Hasn’t finished below 6th in this league.
Isn’t Russell Martin.
Has a win rate of over 50% - granted that does include lower leagues.

Genuinely think it’s a no brainer and should at the very least been spoken to by the club in the summer.

Suited both parties at Stockport for him to move on.

I’ve heard he thought he was going to then land the Sheff Weds job straight after.

Other than that he knows someone like us or a struggling championship side will come calling soon and even if he fails at that next job he would then still walk into a top league one job.

In the summer I'd have gone for Challinor or Maynard.  Both have lower league promotion experience.

The fact neither have got straight back into football after their dismissals makes me wonder if they maybe problematic to the board.

Forest Green job up, so wonder if one ends up there

Forest Green are waiting for James McClean to retire to then give him the managers job

They aren't giving up on Russell Martin having coveted him forever and backed him in the transfer market. Rudkin and Maccarron seemed to be patting themselves on the back at the weekend for all their hard work over the summer. We should all be hoping he turns this around and starts winning some games but at this point it does feel the majority would prefer to see us lose Saturday and he's gone Sunday.

The reason he is out of work is by choice he has turned down a lot of clubs in D2/D1 & Scottish Premier already. I spoke to him a few weeks back at our game ( Hartlepool ) and begged him to come back. He said been and done the National & L2 and have got Stockport to D1 playoffs 2 seasons in a row ( never said but it looks like financially Stockport have gone as far as possible hence him leaving ). He said he wants to manage a Championship club thats exactly what I want and am willing to wait until I get one. I asked would you not consider another D1 club his answer was only if two things 1/ I don't get the Championship job quick enough 2 / Only if it was a huge sleeping giant that I could take to Championship. He mention both Leicester & Sheff Wed as possibilities.  He is your ma n don't allow the stinking Owls to take him because your club will regret it massively.
