Surprised at a lot of the 'Argentina vs the World' type memes doing the rounds. Just from casual observation of both friends and randomers on social media I'd say they're pretty popular and obviously their star man is worshipped by great swathes of the earth's population.

The whole Infantino/ Trump thing is actually quite sad, isn't it? Sounds very forced and desperate. I understand it is serious but also just pathetic.

It's just dead grubby, whole tournament has felt it. As a 36 year old it's comfortably the worst World Cup in my lifetime, it's pipped South Africa by virtue of Infantino having this sycophantic obsession with Trump and celebrity

I guess a medal isn't enough for winning now.

Trump will probably want to put them on the players himself too..

He'll offer them his ring.

Listen Football now is just about money.

I have still generally enjoyed the Football BUT the crass greed and totally dishonest decisions here driven from our Swiss friend just destroys the beauty of the Sport that has given some of the most emotional exciting moments of our lives that we share with friends, family & total strangers.

He knows he makes the African, Asian, Americas, Australiasia countries bags of money why wouldn’t they vote for him.

For a 'nom profit' organisation, FIFA (sorry Argentina Football federation), they are too obsessed with money. This tournament has seen some great stories like Cape Verde, but it has been overshadowed by clear corruption at such an obvious level.

> Awarding Tramp stamp a fake Made up 'peace prize'

> Argentina given clear and obvious bias, game after game.

> Overturning the red card for USA when Tramp stamp got involved

> Wasn't Ronaldo's red card overturned so he can play in the start of the tournament? That gets over looked as well.

> Hydration breaks that has raked in more money

> Extending half time above 15 minutes for the final which is against their own rules!

> Given out unnecessary golden rings because NFL players do.

Overall this tournament has been a farce but I so hope Spain can add normality into the Equation by beating the Argies tonight!

Spain - the world is behind you, do what needs to be done. Just imagine the awkward transfer of the trophy when Trump gives it to Spain after what he said about their country. So e sort of justice for them.

That’s Darren Cann under some suspicion then. It’s absolutely impossible for him to say if referees get approached by FIFA, what secret meetings happen etc. Impossible.

It’s possible he’s just naive and one of the innocent ones, but protesting this much makes it sound like he’s lying. In the world of Darren Cann lawyers care about justice, politicians care about the public, everyone is honest all of the time and all referees are in it for the love of the game.

I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again, the odds of football being the only industry in the world free of corruption are astronomical. He can’t seriously think we are this stupid?

Would like this a million times over if I could it's a complete farce.

Haven’t really enjoyed the football. The majority of games have been too late for me to watch and the ones I have watched haven’t been classics.
