Interesting how transparent corruption between the host nation and FIFA isn't being bellowed from all news outlets over and over.

 

It's a sad indictment of where we're at as a society that this is basically greeted with a shrug and a 'this isn't on, is it?' and nothing else.

2038 all confederations are unable tk host due to the 2 year ban apart from CONCACAF. USA being one of the best countries to host a whole tournament.

Especially as only 3 games are in South America in 2030 - ruling them out until 2042.

Austrlia are Asia confederation.

 

Oceania is still allowed to host if they submitted a bid, but the biggest country is New Zealand and they dont have the ability to host a whole world cup. Especially if by then its expanded to a 72 team format.

This tournament was expanded for the financial reasons and to keep the votes for Infantino coming in and keeping him as president. All FIFA heads do it. You collect votes from small countries who want to feel heard or feel benefits of FIFA money. Its cheaper to do it there as £1m goes a lot further in Cape Verde than it does in Italy and those guys get the same vote as any other country. The presidents go around and do that. Its why they dont care about UEFA being pissed at them 99% of the time. Infantino could lose every single european vote, but would win as he has all the countries hosting the world cup soon, they influence the other countries around them (whether legally or illegally) and the smaller nations will vote for him as their team finally has funding for the basics thanks to a FIFA grant that costs FIFA peanuts.

The layout of the 2030 World Cup is a bit of a joke to be honest. Holding matches over three different continents just makes my mind boggle. 
 

Some talk of New Zealand hosting a bid for 2038, which would be an interesting twist. 
 

I’m in my 40s now, so I’ve given up hope of ever seeing a World Cup hosted in the United Kingdom.

Its nuts to have the 3 games in South America - the impact of flights etc will be serious on those 6 teams.

 

Spain, Portugal and Morrocco give a relatively compact tournament though I think.  No issue with that.

 

NZ cannot afford the WC.

The only way NZ can host the World Cup is to cohost with Australia.

The biggest problem Australia has is June July is peak AFL and NRL season, there’s no way those codes will allow the use of the biggest stadiums for football for 2 months mid season.

Which is a real shame, because I’d love it and I think Australia would be an amazing place to host the World Cup and already has much of the infrastructure ready to go.

As much as I dislike FIFA and Infantino, I'm not sure they can be blamed for the Egyptian goalkeeper having hands made of Ryvita.
