He’s been thrown in with a bunch of willy pullers and it’s probably rubbed off on him a bit.

An England U21 at any of the big 6/7 even with a year left on their deal is £5-6 million, let alone euros and nobody bats an eyelid. It would actually be more but we are where we are. Chelsea were genuinely interested last summer off the back of continued progression from Nelson where he excelled on loan at Rochdale and Doncaster, showed signs he could have been used more by Enzo when we won the league bit accept the stakes we were dealing with. His loan to Oxford should not be mocked because they then a year later are as crap as we were. The fact he was impressive there is not easy, look at us last season only one or two players could come out of it with any credit. When he first got back in our team under Marti he was solid, certainly didn't look slow or positionally weak but the 2nd half of the season he was extremely poor. How you view that is up to you, if you take it in isolation then what @Tommy G describes isn't that outrageous but it's also quite a binary view hence why i'd be analysing his value and potential based on not just last season. Also don't forget, we are a hotbed for players leaving us and immediately performing. He's worth the hype IMO. 4 1
