Their project is to try to win their home World Cup in 2030, where they share hosting with Spain and Portugal. But without doubt it’s a great side already. Should be a stern opponent to that scary looking France team. I’m a big fan of theirs, but I don’t think they have enough to win it yet.

You just don’t know what squads are gonna look like come quarter/semi final stage. Depth is gonna be key and unlike any African team in history they have unreal depth and will basically win any shootout with that freak in goal.

Summerville might want to just glance at the keeper as he’s approaching the ball

Disagree, pick a spot and commit to it, give me that any day over those horrible non-committal stop start run ups.

It was a good pen and an even better save.

I realise you may just be being facetious but I've read a lot of people say this today lol

I agree that pick a spot and commit to it is the best policy

but if a keeper is going to do that wander to one side then you’re 50/50 unless you’re sticking it down the middle.
so always a glance at the keeper before you move your head back down to strike the ball is safer in case he goes like bono did yesterday

I feel like if you've committed and are about 0.5 seconds from striking the ball, trying to change your mind at the last minute and trying to strike the ball different would result in an absolutely awful shot that has more chance of hitting the corner flag than the goal.

Having played in goal for a number of years, I generally found that most takers looked at the ball, then the keeper and then back at the ball

I had a technique that if they did look at me then I appeared to be going one way (depending on which footed they were) and then I pushed off in the other direction once they’d looked down. If they’d decided to change their mind because of what they’d seen me doing then I reckon I had a good chance of saving their effort.  These guys are pros though so they should do better!

I noticed Neuer did something I used to do as a lad in goal, not sure if he did it on purpose and I can't remember who the tell taught me it. But if you stand just ever so slightly to one side, it makes one side look a bit bigger. More often than not, the player would usually aim for the "bigger" area haha.

Also as keepers, we both know that if a player keeps looking at one corner, they're going the other way? lol

Woltemade tried that little one last night haha.

Genuine question if you could swap Kane for Haaland up front for England right now, would you go for it?

Just for this tournament, no, but on age alone, yes

I think I would but mainly because Haaland is such a funny weirdo. Really enjoy him

In the niche category of top class Arsenal attacking midfielders to appear for smaller over performing nations in international tournaments:

Aaron Ramsey 2016 > Martin Odegaard 2026.

Danny Murphy saying how cool it is inside the stadium surely means there's no need for a hydration break?

I never thought it say this but im buzzing for the ad break.

On this showing they'd have been better off sending Bodo Glimt as a team than this.

I'd totally forgotten about that run. Just had a look at the Belgian team you beat. There was some talent in that side!

Even madder that Bale was on the pitch and didnt score or assist any of them.
