That's kind of the idea behind Chelseas buying up of young prospects though isn't it?  Buy them up and then you can inflate the fee to sell them on because you've created an artificial shortage for clubs with limited imagination.

Newcastle apparently in for BEK for around 60m EUR - how much was our sell-on clause?

15-20% of anything above £15m. Be a lovely thwack.

Football is well and truly broken. How is it that the "big 6" teams can sign duff players like Chelsea with Delap, and sell them for a massive profit. See also Man City with Savinho. These are just 2 examples in a long line of dodgy transfers amongst the "big 6". The smaller clubs make a bad signing and we get lumbered with their wages and either sell for a loss or they leave for free, whilst the "big clubs" make profit regardless of how shit their players are. Utterly ridiculous!

Not surprising it's them that have got him. Will spend the next year or so developing and immediately take over from Leonard when he is sold to the Championship or higher for £5-10m next summer.

So frustrating. I wouldn’t mind Leonard himself but probably in the unrealistic price range. Peterborough always know how to pick a striker out don’t they!

Barry Fry has always spent a huge amount of his time watching National and lower League players. Peterborough having benefited enormously over the years as a result.

What we used to do and served us enormously too.

Since winning the Prem I can only think of Souttar, Maddison and Justin James that we’ve bought from the division below. And two of those three were big successes.

I don’t know if it’s worse if we can’t afford to bid like £700k or if the club doesn’t bother scouting those levels anymore.

Ipswich about to make a double signing of Exequeil Palacios and Tammy Abrabam, who are both needle movers. I can see them Staying up.

Ipswich have spent €200m this summer with Abraham to come although that’s a loan…if you spend €200m in 1 window the minimum expectation is to stay up.

Remember this guy...

Fulham approach Roma for Soule

Latest from Sky in Italy:

Fulham have approached Roma about signing Matias Soule.

The attacking midfielder was a target for Aston Villa and other Premier League clubs last summer.

He is a former Argentina U20 international, now 23 and scored 11 goals in 60 games in Serie A.

Pretty sure there's no way they can make it work while they are under this financial framework and spending cap.

I wouldn’t be so sure; their chairman has been working on this, if there’s a chance, they’ll get him in.

Newcastle are signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo for £55m, meaning they're now unlikely to sign Bilal from Stuttgart, meaning we'll miss out on that sell-on money.

I think there may be quite a bit of interest from other sources .

There should be a clause that he isn't allowed to play against us if this is true. See him playing/scoring against us just won't be right.
