If Rice is fit then:

Pickford

Konsa

Stones

Guehi

O’Reilly

Rice (Anderson if not)

Mainoo

Saka

Jude

Rogers

Kane

Given the conditions and fitness status of a number of our players, pretty confident it will be:

Pickford

Quansah, Guehi, Konsa, OReilly

Bellingham, Anderson, Rice

Madueke, Kane, Gordon

with Rogers/Eze/Mainoo coming on for Bellingham/Rice as needed, and both wingers changing to Saka and Rashford at the hour mark. We will tire in the conditions, so subs will be very important. I’d rather have the likes of Saka on vs. tired legs. Holding out and slowing the game down first 20 mins will be pretty important. Spence may start again at rb as well given that side full back is up against Quinones.

Madueke has been alright, just isn’t as good as Saka. I’d also personally pick Konza at right back, I just don’t think Tuchel will. He’s more likely to pick Spence and Quansah there. That Madueke position is just hug the touchline, hold the width, and try to get crosses in, avoiding cutting inside. Rogers is not the best suited to that.

Saka isn’t fit enough to play the full game, so it’ll be Madueke on that side, and Saka on last 30. If Saka is fully fit, he should obviously start and play 90.

It was embarrassing  when he said he would rather be in Canadas shoes than Moroccos after the game🤣🤣🤣

I think a lot of people misinterpreted what Jesse was trying to say.

He just meant that he's glad he doesn't have to live in Africa.

Madueke has been alright

Completely the opposite. He runs at players loses the ball, he passes it backwards more times than Ayew and he has too many brain farts when in the box and doesn't know what to do.

I really don't rate him at all.

That performance vs Congo was shite.

I thought I was imagining him having a good game so had to go check… He had the most successful dribbles, most key passes, highest xA and most big chances created in that game, with 92% passing accuracy in the attacking third.

The various stats bodies and rating bodies like sofa score etc. all gave him at least 8/10 vs. Congo.  My only real criticism of him there from memory was he tried to come back inside too often and just ran into 3 players in their block. He could have tracked back for their goal, but Anderson also could have just dropped in to free up Spence (who was poor generally, but not really to blame for that goal) .

I thought Madueke did well against Croatia and Congo, but poorly vs Ghana and Panama.

As with all our wingers so far, they've been better from the bench.

That’s true of wingers generally isn’t it? Brining them on against tired legs is usually to their advantage.

Thought France's antics all game were a disgrace. Only picking up three yellow cards despite spending 90 minutes trying to ruin a perfectly good game of football from Paraguay. Football lost last night!

Either that's sarcasm or I watched a completely different game to you.

Balogun's match-ban suspended. Bull.

Just for clarification, you mean the red card has been overturned, right?

Nope - the ban is just suspended

Same as what happened with Ronaldo

Get another and the ban gets added back on

I suppose it has. No idea if the legal mumbo jumbo splits hairs.
