BBC Comms wetting themselves. No-one was hurt, France are far from innocent. Rarely see teams being as firm as Paraguay these days.

France have lucked out with travel commitments and locations of their matches. They need testing or they'll walk this entire tournament.

Paraguay keeper is top class aswell.

Why are so many surprised a South American side has played like this though?!

I don't think it's surprising at all. The surprising bit is how the ref didn't have a problem with it.

That is the most unbelievable refereeing performance I’ve ever seen lol … has to be investigated for betting or something, bloody hell

Perhaps the ref had a pre match training session from the local cartel 🤔

Firm = borderline violence, then?

Same scumbag ref that didn’t give Scotland two penalty’s against Morocco which has affected the entire tournament.

Needs investigating and games need to be replayed if found guilty

Ref has got to be on one. Not giving ANY yellows to the Paraguayans with some of their challenges is dodgy as fck

They remind me of all the Central American teams that we have to play here in Concacaf. It's hardly ever anything to do with playing good football.

Mexico are just as bad.

Lol, as soon as I saw kings post the first thing that came to mind is the struggle of growing up having to watch Canada get fleeced by the cheating ****s of central american  teams. Special shoutouts to Guatemala, Honduras,  El Salvador and Nicaragua. Absolute dirty **** teams of the highest order. We got conned so many times and dont get me started on central american ref's, ffs the worst in the world lol

The opposite of Michael Oliver then .

Funny how refs can officiate very differently in terms of giving fouls and dishing out cards .

Exact lack of  consistency that frustrates people

I reckon Caceres and Galarza are still fouling people now lol

It wasnt as bad as the commentary were making but it's astonishing how lenient the ref was. The French weren't innocent towards the end either.

South American sides are horrible, they have thier moments but generally Brazil are OK but the rest of them are dirty bastards.

Lovely piece on Olise just now, what a lovely lad .

I didnt even know he played for Reading.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they made it as far as they did, but my intial post was about their manager...he seems to do very little tactically, they have a decent side and I don't think them progressing had anything to do with the manager.

I haven't got much hope for England against Mexico. If we do they'll be riots in Mexico

I think we can expect some ‘home decisions’ ………

But hey, we got a big one of those in ‘66 - maybe the biggest

Personally I love the shithousing, if you’re not as good as them then kick them and try and intimidate off the park

Ageed! Its up to the referee to keep them in check.

That performance was as horrendous as the infamous Clattenberg howler in Chelsea Spurs 2-2.

I would not be surprised if hes investigated after that.

Football isn’t all just pretty stuff. France are evidently better than Paraguay, Paraguay knew that so they tried to bring them down to their level. Fair play I say. Anyone moaning is a loser.

Honestly just refreshing not watching 2 teams taking it turn passing the ball slowly, 60 yards from the other teams goal for 80% of the game haha.

Aside from Croatia Portugal that was probably my favourite game
