It's always concerning when after conceding a goal, the team all walk back quietly with their heads down.

No arguing, no discussions, no one trying to organise and point out what went wrong etc. It's like they just don't know what to do.

We are so utterly broken as a team that I have no idea who could manage us and make us better. We are absolutely awful at everything. Nobody is turning this around. 

We just need to play straightforward football. Why have we got Luke Thomas inverting into midfield? Get the full backs out wide, get them running forward and overlapping their wingers. 

We just needed a Neil Warnock type manager to simplify the game, take us back to basics.

Instead we're fannying around with the ball with players that aren't capable of it.

Let's be honest, that was painful to watch.

 

Martin can stick to a philosophy all he wants, but you have to play to your squad's strengths. Okoli isn't a ball-playing CB, Skipp doesn't have the passing range and constantly plays it safe, and BDCR is not a center forward. Unless we replace those three specifically, we’re going to struggle week in, week out.

He will do all of that for sure. I’d respect him if he came out and slated everyone for being useless.

 

The only thing keeping Martin employed is the fact that we’ve been awful since Cooper. Every terrible manager we appoint (and there will be more) can point to what came before him and say how hard it is to turn a club around. 
 

Which it is, of course, but we play like the team have never met each other before. Not a clue what training he leads every week because they’re bloody terrible.

Let me just take this is in.  Im no fickle post 2015 supporter ..... my first game was 1969 when Burtons ground was a tumbleweed bit of grass by the Trent.... but we've just lost to Burton Albion!!!

Yep, and performances are crap too. But you expect 3 players to carry the other 8? Sounds logical. Undermining your own point because if we actually played more of them, we'd be doing better based on what we're seeing.

We have this very odd trait within the squad that we play like we're the ones winning the game at 70/75 mins and still piss about with it, as opposed to needing to chase the game with some energy and conviction. 

 

McCarthy was a big culprit of it. He looked utterly lost and even when he did hoof it up, he couldn't aim it towards the 6ft 7 lump that is Souttar.

I was actually quite excited and positive about this season but once again, absolutely embarrassed and ashamed to support this club.
