This will mean Leicester are the team we've played the most in the previous 3/4 years and while it would be nice to give Burns and Chaplin a good reception, doesn't feel likely they'll play much. Both sides will want to focus on the league so will be second strings. At this point I think the main benefit to Ipswich is a way to keep fringe players match fit and involved if they can get through. I reckon the Town lineup will be something like: Akpom Clarke - Egeli - McAteer Nunez/Lukic - Humphreys Ouattara - Kipre - O'Shea - Furlong Walton Question marks are the holding midfielders an left back as we're short on cover with injuries ATM. Could be Leif Davis at Left back and Ouattara going into midfield if we wanted to rest both Nunez and Lukic. Fatawu will likely be on the bench as he started on Saturday (looked very handy though). 2

One area he need to improve is his fitness, need to learn to be effective for 90 minutes. Watson and Howell look miles of it fitness wise. Would be nice to see him play with McFarlene behind him. Interesting thing is can Martin afford for us to be battered, 3 games in a 3 poor performances piles the pressure on. 1

That's not a disrespect to the opposition but we're simply totally inadequate in cup competition. Haven't got beyond the fifth round of the FA Cup since 1993 and always lose to lower league opponents in both domestic competitions. Won't be no upset if you win, both teams were in the same league only a few weeks back and on level footing. The gap appears wider now due to one club name being promoted, the other falling down a division. O'Neill has only just come in after McKenna decided to quit and it's far too early to suggest he'll prove a winner or failure here. Pre season was mostly good but the level of opposition was hardly formidable. Sunderland came within seconds of taking a point at the weekend at Portman Road and while we may avoid a relegation this time I'd imagine between 12th and 18th is a reasonable estimate in which to finish. Spending a vast amount in the transfer market is all very well and good but we're a small provincial club name in the East of England that hasn't been able to consistently challenge the elite for 45 years. Back in early '97 there was a game between clubs at the quarter final stage. Leicester won that night and went on to win the trophy and think somehow it may be the last time both teams met in the competition. May be wrong but it's one occasion that stands out. Not sure if there's extra time or straight to penalties after 90 minutes, they piss around with the rules year in year out but there's every chance we'll lose and to be honest I'd be in a way expecting it. We simply do not show up for cup competition, haven't for years. A defeat at home to Maidstone a year or two back perfectly illustrates when we went on to promotion to the premier league. I hope O'Neill puts out a strong team and they at least make an effort but for someone who's been with it long enough and seen one disappointment after another I'd accept we're going to make little impact on both competitions this season and survival in the top flight has to be the primary target. 1

You might lose to a lower league team that's organised, hardworking and resolute. If you lose to this Leicester team though, O'Neil needs sacking. You wont even need to create your own chances, just have men in our 3rd when our keeper or cbs have the ball and they will provide your forwards with opportunities. 3 1
