For me the real positive was that it was actually more enjoyable to watch. Saw desire and commitment for the first time in ages. Page, Braybrooke, Howell, Chaplin looked great. Thought Aluko, Woyo, Macfarlane and even Thomas better as our defence but still mistakes in back line and the passing round the back will continue to gift the opposition goals. Not ready to write Bristric off yet but needs a bit of time and better service. Worried about GK as I don’t think we’ll bring in a fourth. Maybe with a different manager we have a decent League One side.

Keep the old defenders away from the pitch. 

Play the two loan wingers every game. 

Keep the young lad up top - he makes good runs even though his touch is horrific. 

Keep page in the team.

Promising stuff - yes mistakes cost us again but the two goals from Nunez were class (still think Jacob was way off his line for the lob the silly billy).

 

Anyway, biggest thing I noticed was the ball was being moved a lot faster. If we are gonna play out the back and be passing it around it needs to be fast and clinical. Just unlucky that just one error led to getting punished.

with league 1 opposition we should do better if we play positively

The individual defensive errors won't be ironed out either so we simply have to become more ruthless in attack and stronger in midfield, which is a major work in progress.

 

Like what I saw of McFarlane today, Page and Braybrooke together was a joy to watch and Howell and Aluko did well too.

 

Cullen we might as well have played with 10 men again and Burns 1st touch was very rusty. Reid looked more involved as the 10 which if he remains and is in the squad has to be his use. Cullen needs jury service on a complex case that lasts the rest of the season please.

I think if we can find a leader to play CB, add to what I saw from Chaplin we will see that change. 

 

It feel like with the young lads once we get one or two wins it will get easier.

from what i saw we looked a lot better going forward their first goal looked offside 2nd one took deflection and third one skill luck we have committed players forward looking to level game, he just need to sort the defence.out

 

i hope he keeps similar side for saturday thankfully skipp wont be available either, there is a god after all 😊

Look at vardy, once playing up front on his own with this type of systen.. nullified him, daka, ect. It absolutely destroys them.

It's catastrophic how far we have fallen, and how so many are willing to accept it.

History and infrastructure don't win points. The reality is we’re currently a League One club, and until we accept how far we’ve fallen from what we used to be, we won't move forward.

**** me I was expecting defeat.    Only got the result late and didn't or couldn't follow action.     Read up on game report and fan comment on BBC Sport Ipswich Town and TWTD etc to catch up on what was missed.    Seems Nunez scored a wonder effort from far out but haven't able to view highlights as yet.

 

Seems you played well and can take heart and confidence from it even in defeat.    The kids you selected tried and showed determination and if you show the same inclination in League One this season you'll provide yourselves a fighting chance of making it back up.   Morsy and Chaplin although beyond their prime still have something to offer and can and should contribute to your team in the months ahead.      Both did well for us.   

 

Amazing to think this season would now be 30 years since Leicester won the League Cup.   Can still picture Claridge I think in the replay game against a Middlesbrough team brim full of talent and Heskey saving the original contest in added time.    Things were easier back then.

More positives by sounds of it despite the defeat. Hopefully we take that going into mk game.

The big difference last night was having the likes of Aluko, Braybrooke and Page being the likes to get on the ball in deeper positions rather than Skipp, Okoli and Souttar, their ability and vision to move the ball quicker meant we could break lines and create a lot more opportunities. 
 

Too often in the first 3 games we couldn’t capitalise on chances to move the ball quickly to create overloads because the likes of Skipp, Okoli and Souttar are unable to see or execute the pass. That is why we so desperately need to move all these players on, because if we don’t we all know that the manager will be required to include them as they will be expensive assets and certain individuals will want to save face. 
 

For me I thought McFarlane, Aluko despite a couple of mistakes, JJ, Braybrooke, Chaplin, Page, Howell, Watson and Alves all looked very good. Bristric worked hard and once he gets up to speed will be a good addition. 
 

We need rid of the 6/7 deadwood wantaways and if we can sign 2/3 central defenders, a CDM and another striker I think we will be in a good place. 
 

Still lots of work to do, as defensively we looked shaky at times but also lots of positives to build on.

The system is good if everyone is comfortable on the ball and there are no brain fart passes. 

 

Unfortunately that aint goanna happen.
