Death by Football Posted 28 August Posted 28 August 17 hours ago, Ric Flair said: Chance creation from open play has been worrying, you look at the goals we've scored so far as well and 2 of the 4 are corners. Really grim viewing to date. It's a fair point about needing to create more chances in open play but at least we are scoring from set pieces for a change. It feels like a long time since we had any threat on set pieces at all. Every corner would inevitably end up back with our goalkeeper. 2

We're better with him in the side, absolutely but he's not a very creative player, he's good for 3-4 assists a season. He got 8 with Ipswich in L1 last time out but that's his career season high for a team that scored 101 goals. It was partly why I hated the collective Chaplin + Cullen signings whilst we have Reid. Reid creates f uck all and Cullen has 11 assist in his whole career. Alves has started 15 games in his career and has 3 assists for comparison. Alves, Howell, Watson, Page and Braybrooke need to provide the final ball. 2

Popular Post adejo92 Posted 28 August Popular Post Posted 28 August With how we played against Ipswich, I am willing to wipe the slate clean from our first two games. If RM hasnt learnt from the changes at Ipswich, then he can fvck off. 6
Popular Post Nolucklcfc Posted 28 August Popular Post Posted 28 August Would be amazing if we could win whilst being completely deserving of actually winning. I can’t remember the last time we deserved to win a football match. 11

Obviously somebody has got to score and set up goals, but it's so easy to carried away with numbers. Alves has been very good so far and he's made a big impact in terms of how direct he is, which lifts the overall performance going forward. I could see him not having amazing numbers over the season but him still being excellent. Whereas somebody like Mavididi is all about the end numbers which have crap for him. Barnes similar vein but obviously he had the numbers to back it up.
