Negativity

There’s too much positivity. Fans clapping in the stands when this club is absolutely at its nadir. 
 

Football is about winning FFS. We haven’t been critical enough.

I don't know what the reaction should be in that case. Fans have booed results and Okoli individually, none of the youngsters. I would hope they understand it is frustration with everything and not them specifically.

I'm not sure all the noise and negativity is helpful for the on-field stuff. I get people are entitled to feel how they feel, but for their own sanity, if they feel so negatively about the club, especially on-field performances, then why do you still go?

The booing early on yesterday was ridiculous

I fully get it. But we need to remember the majority if not all of these will not be scrolling through foxestalk to find reassurance that it isn’t aimed at them. Put yourself in their situation if you was in a group that got booed when approaching someone, how do you not think that is aimed at you personally?

 

Like I’ve said in other posts today, I fully understand the frustration, I have it myself. But like others have stated let’s target that frustration at the people that deserve it, whether that’s through chants at the final whistle regarding KP or Rudkin.
 

Let’s not boo when the young lads approach us to applaud our support.

Bobby Reid should not be playing up front. 
Admir needs to start and when he gets one, I’m sure he’ll grow from there. 
 

Yesterday, Braybrooke and JJ both hit the woodwork. If they flew in, and if Bobby Reid scores his chance - as he should have - we dick them at least 3-0.

I dont and have never booed the team as its too non specific and can therefore be misinterpreted, as others have pointed out. Nothing wrong though with letting your feelings known after the game after another poor result or if there's a lack of effort though.

 

Another reason to not boo is I dont want Martin using fan toxicity as a reason as to why we're in the bottom 6 in November. The light needs to be shone on his managerial acumen and those that employed him, if that scenario were to arise.

There’s a myth that positivity will somehow fix all of the problems. As if we didn’t already try that years ago when we were sliding and kept sliding even further. It’s past the point of that now unfortunately.

I dont think anyone is enjoying the negativity but theres nothing to be positive about. Board are stupid, the new dof has done **** all, the manager is a moron and a lot of the players dont give a shit. That, and a large proportion of the fanbase being thick as shit as well.

Any normal season with a rough start, there wouldn't be this negativity. Think back to some of the PL seasons where we struggled.

 

However, this situation is so much different. Years of club mismanagement, 3 relegations in 4 seasons, financial punishment, inability to now spend anything because of it, owners who have disappeared and don't care anymore. We are in the worst position the club has been in the entire 142 year history. I can fully understand people are frustrated and sick of underperforming. The problem is, that frustration can only go in a few directions and matchdays are the easiest. Unfortunately the players can't get away from it even though they aren't the main cause (particularly those on that pitch now).

 

Those who still clap regardless and have the arrogance and smugness to call out anyone who thinks different and on top, believe they are the best fans. They are fuelling the fire.

 

It's not going to improve soon, we are in a slog, a rebuild. It will take a couple of years to rebuild both financially and in a sporting sense. This season is likely a mid table affair and then it depends how soon we can build a successful team after that.

 

Don't agree with booing and slaughtering those on the pitch this early but frustration is strong in the fanbase. Ideally we back the team for 90 minutes and they respond with a solid performance. At the end it is best to walk away in silence if the performance was not worthy. By all means boo at Rudkin or the owners, whatever. But give those players a chance to prove something. The majority are young and mostly talented. Let's hope they gel soon and find some form. Doesn't take a lot to climb the league.

I think we'll start to pick up some wins eventually,  but won't be any thanks to Martin, will just be because we have some decent players in the team.

 

As others have said, I genuinely think any one of the other 23 managers in this league would have us with more points than Martin does now.

I think we’ll continue to play well like we did yesterday but nobody in this teams is bagging 15+ this season. It’s a striker or playoffs at absolute best.

I get why we have negative fans but it helps no one.  It's a 2 way street, I feel this season we've more players on the pitch we can get behind and support than ones just don't put a shift in.

 

I'd rather see us get behind the team to spur the young academy lads on, there's massive potential there.

 

Put it this way if your kid is doing shit at maths at school you don't keep telling him he's shit do you.  You set the environment to allow him to become better.  We are slowly moving towards that, hopefully KP get a buyer ASAP.  But it would be nice for potential buyers to buy into club where they feel the fans can make a real positive difference

We have gone into the season with 3CBs who aren’t likely to be here and 1 striker who is a young lad playing in this country for the first time. Anyone expecting us to walk the league with this lot is in for a shock, but as a club we should absolutely piss this.

 

We won’t, I said at the start of the season that we are hugely unprepared. Why shouldn't we expect to be challenging to win this league?

 

On any given matchday our XI will be of higher quality than any other in this division, in my opinion.

I disagree.  It helps me personally and I think it is important that we make it known that this is unacceptable.  Very loudly.  

 

Your maths exam analogy does not hold water.  We are not talking about players that are not good enough we are talking about players that have been massively underperforming and not putting in the basic effort.
