The odd chorus of boos from fans isn't the reason we've lost to Burton, Oxford and Peterborough home

True, but the facts speak for themselves. We've lost three of our four home league games, conceding nine goals, and are 2nd bottom of the home league table. We're unbeaten away and are 10th in the away league table. This is continuing a pattern from last season, when we were also better away than at home.

The team clearly has a major problem playing at the KP. We can blame them for being gutless cowards and they can blame us for being toxic, but clearly something needs to change or we're heading straight for another relegation scrap.

I wonder how much the lack of confidence shown by players comes not so much because of fan reaction but rather from the instruction to play in a way that doesn't come natural to them (such as over-passing, esp in defence)... being over-coached, which results in deliberating too long on the ball, and to have to abandon your footballing instincts,

What comes first, the players being shit or the criticism of them? Every week one comes before the other, I'm sure you know which way round it is :)

We are already in a relegation scrap.

I don't get to as many games I would like due my kids playing (and to be fair they are a better watch).  I've made 2 home league games this year and was pretty surprised how quickly certain fans are on the backs of players etc.  It was less than 5 mins, still 0 - 0 and both teams were finding their feet in the game.  I get it though, the regulars turn up (having paid good money) expecting the same to happen as the week before and 1 bad pass, touch starts them off.  It's ends up being a downwards spiral throughout, we just need something to spark that revival.

Some players don't give a **** what the crowd thinks, others do.  We just tar them all with the same brush and lets face it some aren't good enough but we are stuck with them at present.

I do indeed. However, I would also argue that Martin is a key factor in the players being shit. If you manage a football club and know that your fans are depressed and cynical after successive relegations, you might conclude that sending the players out with an overly-elaborate game plan that requires perfect concentration and execution, and for which several of your first 11 don't have the technical ability for, might not be the best way to boost confidence. But Russell is apparently unshakeable in his belief that he can create true football perfection while still picking the likes of McCarthy, Thomas, Okoli and BDCR, to name just a few.

My confidence would be pretty flimsy too if I knew I was a very limited footballer and Martin asked me to play as if I'd come up though Barcelona's academy.

Except our home record last season was better than our away record

28 points won at home compared to 24 won away

I find it incredible that we've managed to assemble a squad full of sopping wet flannels.

The players are largely well supported at kick off and the boos only really started when it went 2-0. If Everton, Newcastle, Villa etc went 3-0 down at home to Robbie Savage's Peterborough United it would be like World War 3. Leicester fans are as meek as could be when you actually look at whats happening on the pitch and it's still too much for this squad.

It's like a social experiment to see how difficult it is to shape the mentality of football fans into total apathy despite this being the club we all love and the club we spend our hard earned money to follow.

Make no mistake we are absolutely hated by most the staff at the club and have been blamed for what’s been happening for years.

Even Rebekah Vardy too aim at us because she blessed us with her presence once.

There’s even other fans who think this. It’s been so enabled. The KPFC lot have killed the club.

There's supposed to be a significant home advantage, though.

That 4 point difference between home and away saw us 22nd for home form and 17th away. Our home form relegated us.

We weren’t better away last season. How about they just do their ****ing jobs with any semblance of competency. Making excuses for the best paid players in the league cause they’re scared to play in front of the most passive fanbase in England against the mighty Doncaster Rovers. ****ing pathetic

Anyone else hear his interview on RL, says training goes so well yet on Saturday it’s like the players have anxiety, has the KP become so toxic now the players are struggling to play with any real confidence

Me personally thought the crowd was right behind the team until Peterboroughs first goal went in

Lundstram said exactly the same earlier in the week too.

“We train so well Monday to Friday but get anxious on a Saturday!!”.

That’s damning stuff that two new “experienced” signings are saying that.

That’s down to the manager IMO opinion, stop over complicating it, get the players fitter and obsess over winning 50/50’s would see us win more games than this odd obsession of possession with zero attacking patterns.

We were 22nd in the home league table, which is worse than we were away.

Not my argument and not excusing the players either. Not even blaming the fans, it's understandable how toxic it is.

I don't think fans can be expected to be less toxic in the circumstances, but I do think it plays a part.

Just makes the Martin appointment an even more mind numbingly thick decision from the board.

The mold needed to be broken to give the fans the feeling of a new movement, a gear change.

Martin was a risky as fuq appointment given his own personal clusterfvck of a two year period (surely always a danger he's in a rut/lost the love of the game/whatever in those circumstances - more often than not a manager who has been shit for the past couple of years is also shit in their next role).

Not only that, as has been discussed to death on here, he represented more of the same (and worse) as regards the maligned style of play.

The first item on the agenda over summer should have been 'how do we get the fans back on board?' Instead it's genuinely as though they've contrived to leave no stone unturned in disillusioning us even further.

It can't be expressed enough times how thick our owners and decision makers are, and how terribly run we are.

Totally agree but you'll get short thrift on this forum about this topic!

There are 4 camps that impact a club's success: players, board, managers, fans. For us, all contribute negatively, but all think they're not to blame and the others are the problem.

All four aren't equally to blame. I'd put it as the board 50%, players 25%. Managers 15% and fans 10%.

We change manager every 4 months and it doesn't improve anything, as the other 85% is unaccountable. Same directors, same fans and while lots of players change, we seem to be forever stuck with our shittest players.

We'll stay in the death spiral until at least three of the four camps realise they too are part of the problem and make changes.

It will happen eventually. Good times pass and so do bad times.

Can people please stop gaslighting other fans.

We have seen a downfall that no other club in recent PL history has ever seen, it’s important highlighting PL history, as the money that we’ve had go through the club is unprecedented.

We have broke unwanted record after record as a club, so I guess these are also down to us.

Yet our reaction has been meek AF in comparison.

Boils my piss this type of nonsense.

Nobody is saying it isn't warranted. Of course it's toxic. Still has a negative impact.

Agree with you, think we need to be self aware enough to realise that

A- We have a right to be angry and as a result it can be toxic

B- It will affect any set of players unless you have the top level players

C- Our mindset as a squad is weak so comparatively it probably effects them more

D- You can’t call it a supportive environment when most games within a minute or two you have people losing their heads(fairly, I am one of those people). You can actually hear the collective panic very loudly anytime any of our defenders are remotely pressed even when watching on a stream(collective PTSD I call it)

I think the booing and general negativity is the right way to go to get rid of the useless lot at the top, but do think it’s gets misplaced sometimes, especially towards the squad, now less as the performances haven’t exactly been good or deserving of praise but it did feel like from the get go they were never going to win our fans over because our idiot manager and board signed them.

Agreed. Just challenging the posters stating the facts speak for themselves and then saying something which wasn’t a fact

I’m not making excuses for them :D I just think that Martin is sending them out on a hiding to nothing by rigidly insisting on a brand of football that is guaranteed to bring defensive fragility in front of a fanbase that is sick to the back teeth of watching fragile defences.

The players are often a symbol of the manager. If the manager uses excuses about anxiety from the fans then the players know it's fair game to do the same.
