I think I'll wait until I've seen some of these newbies play before assuming they're better. It's not as if we haven't had new players recently that have turned out to be gash.

RM said he should be involved again from next week. I think Doyle provides depth, we will pick up injuries, games will come thick and fast, Page and Braybrooke are only young and cant be relied upon across the full season.

I think it means that we have decent options for Martin’s early second half substitutions instead of Burns and Cullen. We also have options for Page and Braybrooke for when they tire.

As shit as it is to be in the competition, the Fulham U21 game on the 22nd will be perfect timing for all the new signings to have a run out (plus five from the squad at the Barnsley game as rules dictate).

When he got announced I thought lots won’t make the match day squad. Based on his performances and output last year he is a player that should ahead of the likes of BDR and cullen for sure. This is where RM will show you what he’s about, will we rarely see Doyle and have to watch Cullen impersonate a pro footballer or will he pick the best possible option.

Now Faes and Okoli appear to be staying  I wouldn't rule out Martin using 1 or both in that defence again through the season.

Not sure Brighton would have allowed us to loan him without some assurances on playing time.

If Faes is fully reintegrated he may well start. Probably our best ball playing defender, and that's clearly how Martin will set us up.

 

Feels like not a huge difference in quality between the two, could see us starting 30% of the 'second XI' most weeks to rotate and allow for fresh impact players on the bench.

Swamp  practically  drained  with that squad, Martin's  got no one to blame now ,his players and its on him to get em playing and winning ,buck stops with him .

Yeah, but I can't imagine Chaplin or Page won't play either. Somebody has to make way.

 

Either way I think the concept of a best XI feels a bit outdated. Very much a squad game now, and I'd imagine Page and Braybrooke will appear in almost every game - whether as a starter or a sub.

 

Being a sub is more like being a 'finisher' these days. Squad depth could well be a major difference between us and the others in League One this season.

As of what we know now, this looks like it, with the obviously caveat about Stolarcryk.

 

Will be interesting to see if this is how it ends up. Once you factor in the inevitable McCarthy in goal, there’s plenty of experience and leadership with him, Souttar, O’Hora and Lundstram through the spine there. And Riis actually.

I’d agree with that being our strongest 11, with the obvious change of McCarthy for Stolarczyk. 
 

I think Kangasniemi would maybe have to be sacrificed from that bench (unfortunately) though as Thomas could cover lb/cb which would make room to put either Chaplin or Doyle there instead. 
 

BDCR and Cullen hopefully ousted from the squad entirely.

My reading mates thinks hes a luxury player and werent bothered he didnt return

No chance he gets anywhere near the first 11
