Back at home on Saturday, and could really do with a win to keep the momentum going. Will be interesting to see who makes the squad/ misses out due to deadline day additions. Not sure Martin will make too many changes after a win and back-to-back clean sheets…

                     McCarthy

Joseph - Souttar - Thomas - McFarlane

                        Page

 Burns  -  BDCR  -  Braybrooke  -  Alves

                      Bristrić

Ravizzoli / Aluko / O’Hora / Lundstram / Howell / Watson / Riis

Although can see Cullen making the bench ahead of Howell. Longer term hopefully Thomas drops out of the squad and Kangasniemi fills that place on the bench with O’Hora starting.

Seems to be a bit of rotation with the wide players so wouldn't be surprised if they swap around, although it would be nice to see Alves get a run of starts and build on last night.

Don't know where O'Hora and Lundstram are with fitness, but I reckon O'Hora comes straight in. I'd give Bristric another start, and introduce Riis second half.

Going to be interesting how we manage 7 subs now, because there is going to be a few missing out.

I would imagine a bit of rotation likely dictated by how quickly the new signings get up to speed.

I can see something like this if the new guys train well and it gives a couple of the young guys a rest as they were definitely a bit leggy towards the end of the game and its a long season ahead.

JJ

Souttar

O'Hora

Thomas

ideally I'd like to see something like

Ravazzoli (not convinced McCarthy can play in this system)

JJ

Souttar

Kangasniemi or O'Hora

McFarlane

Lundstram

Howell

Braybrooke

Page

Alves

Bristric/Riis

then McCarthy, Aluko, Kangasniemi/O'Hora, Watson, Doyle, Burns, Bristric/Riis

However he's not gonna bin off Cullen and Reid despite both being liabilities, expect the throb to start again and miss another couple of tidy chances

For me I’m not sure I’d want to change the dynamic of Page and Braybrooke by moving them forward and using Lundstram, think we are better off with one of the naff lot in the 10 and Lundstram off the bench along with Doyle for those two

Hated the defeat at home last season, and that defined what happened to us. Also hate that we both had that bellend Rowatt as a manager.

Get a win here - and the mood will continue to be good. With a stronger squad - its doable.

I think the most positive thing I can say about the whole situation is I'm not going to whinge if we don't throw a load of new signings in, where it was valid a couple of weeks ago.

I would describe it more as resting is all its alot of football in a short space, not a question on his performance at all

I'm no Thomas super fan but we don't know yet whether either of these are any better yet.

I just don't think their dynamic is worth playing with 10, as we would be with the throb or Cullen, is worth it. Page is also pretty good moving forward and I'd like to see him playing a bit more advanced

Would not surprise me if he rested Alves. Poor lad looked absolutely shattered when he came off.

After this game we go away to Stockport and I reckon we'll want to go absolutely full strength in that one.

I think the back four will be the same. McCarthy in goal. I think Lundstram might start (assuming he's fit). I reckon Burns and Watson start on the wings. Bristric starts up front with BDCR in behind.

One thing I do know is that only having 7 bench slots is going to cause bother all season long. Difficult to only pick 7.

Curious as to why you’d choose Burns over Howell?

No Thomas and Reid would be a welcome change.

Page makes such a difference turning with the ball rather than bouncing it backwards for the clowns at the back to play themselves into danger.

Just think we’ll see some rotation game to game and would rather keep Alves in rather than Howell.

Also not completely convinced by Howell’s off the ball work, although technically excellent, so would offer a threat off the bench still.

No place in the squad for Cullen and rightly so, seen nothing to suggest he should be in it.

Niemi will have to be given chances in the Checkatrade Johnstones Paint Trophy.

As harsh as it is to change a back 5 after two clean sheets LT still hasn’t stood out over the two games. Macfarlane is streets ahead at LB.

Lundstram shouldn’t be thrown straight in from the start IMO.

Im convinced Alves can operate in the 8/10, especially at home.

Watson keeps it fresh while Howell came off on 52mins didn’t he?

Riis to come on for Bristric on 65-70.

Chaplin returning from injury would all of a sudden give RM a huge headache and there’s no place in the squad for Doyle just yet.
