It should be Dave Challinor.

Available with a lot of experience in this league. Built Stockport up into a team that will probably go up this season.

Would be the new Nigel Pearson IMO.

Failed at Aberdeen, crap at Torquay. Not disputing he's had a phenomenal career, just disputing that he'd be a "smart choice" in our current predicament. Hope that helps.

The point I was making is he’s an old school Manager, one that takes no shit and has had a phenomenal career getting results with low budget teams in the lower leagues. Neil would never happen pretty sure of that, I was suggesting maybe we should steer away from Managers with their slick interview white board presentations and focus on Managers who have a proven track record of getting results in the lower leagues and if you like in the same mould as NW.

Read my point again then. Hope that helps.

Alex Ferguson let Eric Cantona do what he liked because he was his ‘star’ player!

His assistant Clint Hill is also available from what I can see.

Unsure about Sweeney and Meulensteen though. Both seem to still be at Stockport.

Always finished a season in the playoffs or with promotion

I am sure we can ruin that for him

My biggest worry is he failed to get Stockport out of League 1. Twice they failed in play offs.

In fact, I'm sure every season he finished in the play offs with Stockport they lost.

edit: Also, Stockport are flying again this season under a new manager which always makes me wonder about the stability of the club and everything being in place over the actual manager.

never thought id say it, but you would have to try and convince and beg Scott Parker to take it on. I do think he would get us playing.

Think hes the opposite to what we need.

It’s a similar situation to when Pearson came the first time. It’s also not far off the mess the Chavs found themselves in when they appointed Robins.

It will take a shift in mentality and rebuild from the ground up which the likes of Pearson and Robins can do.

Similar characters who are realistic obviously include Challinor or Dyche but we should also look at the likes of Fuchs (with Appleton) or perhaps Paddy McCarthy etc.

Or it could be a case that he left behind such strong foundations for the new manager to come in and succeed.

Challinor remains the standout name on paper, but I've got no idea if he'd consider us. (We'll shortly see what an effective side he built at Stockport)

The worry is that Aiyawatt won't consider him.

We won’t have the money to sack Martin. It’s a dream world that we will be getting a new manager. He’s getting at least half a season and even then I think we will be too screwed to even fix it

We do have the money, but its a sad outcome that we'll need to sell Page in Jan to pay off yet another manager. 1 bad manager can be bad luck. 2 in a row is poor. 3 in a row is incompetent. 4 in a row is beyond a joke. 5 in a row is sabotage.

I think there is funds to get rid. If we were desperate then Page would’ve gone IMO.

Add in that for two years running they didn’t wanna pay small fees for competent progressive coaches like Corberan and Rohl.

Probably, yes.

But given he was overlooked in the summer, you'd think they won't consider him now/this season...

Alexander Blessin - former St. Pauli manager. His tactics would dominate league one. Free agent, no compensation fee to pay either. He wouldn't have the team needlessly recycling the ball and passing around the back. Win it back, vertical pass, get numbers forward. He'd be my choice.
