VAR is literally killing my betting

It’s making it so much harder

Is it though?

All depends which way it goes I guess.

eg last night I had a biggie on Man City to qualify

Like the bulk of the Etihad I was well happy to see Sterling score in injury time.

No VAR? It’d have stood

Not making it harder though is it, if anything VAR making the correct decisions actually reduces the variables involved.

As I said, depends which way it goes. My recent bets have pretty much all gone along the lines of goal, VAR, no goal

Horses for courses I guess.

a punting short story:

backed harvey barnes to score, score 2 and score a hat trick every week since he’s been brought back. left it today cos he was on the bench. scored.

the end.

Got a couple of stories like that lol last season when we had Palace away I had money on Benteke to score purely because of how Leicester it would be. Cashed it out when I heard he wasn't starting. Relieved when he came on in the 86th minute as that meant it wouldn't have been void. Relief dashed as he scores a penalty in the 90th minute.

Then there was another a couple of years ago where I heard somebody put a fiver on every League One game in a day to finish 3-3, he backed eleven singles and not a single one won. Unaware there was a game on the Sunday in League One - Bradford v Coventry. Of course, it finished 3-3.

Not necessarily, without VAR the linesman could easily call offside and not allow play to continue.

But he hadn’t and he didn’t?

But without VAR he would have had to go with what he thought, which may have been offside (because it was actually offside). With it being a close call, the linesman let it run (as per the UEFA directive) and VAR came into play.

A ref/linesman not giving a call in when they have VAR to review, doesn’t mean they would give the same decision if VAR wasn’t available.

They’d have to make a decision, not necessarily the ‘let play continue and review after’ decision that they make with VAR available.

Awful spell at the minute, no wins for for weeks, mixing it up and everything, btts, over 2.5, booking points, anytime goalscorer.

Not even getting close either.

Roll on the season end, at least then I have the excitement of fvcking my money away on some team in the Siberian 4th division.

Fancy Frankfurt to win the Europa League actually. 11/2. They've got a real camaraderie about them in Europe and Chelsea & Arsenal are just so unconvincing.

Ajax look like a good bet tonight. Spurs played a strong team at the weekend and looked pretty average against West Ham. Ajax have been unbelievable this season and had an week extra rest, as well having players who've played in the prem and know the English game (Tadic and Blind).
