Master Fox Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Come on, don't let trivial things like facts spoil their dreams... At least we have dreams,.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 I don't expect millions. I don't even expect immediate promotion. I just want our club to be able to compete at this level, retain some financial stability and actually feasibly be in with a chance of the play-offs through a bit of investment in the playing squad.

I have to agree, I couldn't care less if it were mickey mouse or milan mandaric or the current board, but the latter seems impotent in getting any investors in!!!
ceebeefox Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 So how many millions do you expect him to pour into any club then? Have you checked the Pompey transfer funds utilised in the early years of MM ownership? 2 or 3 million on players down the spine of this team and we would be promoted, as when Redknapp added Merson , Stone and not many more. And didn't they fly out of this league? We were 2nd by a country mile.
Ultra Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 We were actually top that season with three games to go, then Muzzy got injured and we fell away. As I recall, Redknapp brought in about EIGHT new players (we were banned from signing any) and the rest of the league was skint because of the collapse of the deal with ITV. Look at what's going on at Birmingham and Leeds as examples of where having a sugar daddy doesn't always cure a club's ills...

Look at what's going on at Birmingham and Leeds as examples of where having a sugar daddy doesn't always cure a club's ills... Leeds will be WAY ahead of us if they get a decent manager soon, still one of the highest spending clubs and I will have 50 quid that says they pi55 all over us by end May!
lcfc_jme Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 milan save our club milan milan save our club! Careful or people will tell you you're high on drugs or just dreaming. Everybody knows MM is not going to buy our club, and even if he did (which he won't), he won't really put any funds into our side, and will just ruin it altogether (I am not of this opinion, I want him to come to our club as he'd be great for us.)
Daggers Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 At least we have dreams,. and you have got to have a dream. For if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?
davieG Posted 2 October 2006 Author Posted 2 October 2006 and you have got to have a dream. For if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true? Naaaaaah that's just Happy Talking Talking Happy Talk.
Magictv Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Just remember I still have this..... I will personally bare my fat booty ass on the town hall steps if ANYONE buys Leicester within the next 12 months!

Janx Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 right so I will be baring my ass and giving out 50 notes by end of the season... frankly I think thats a small price to pay to be wrong and be 1) under new ownership 2) Above Leeds. Its a win/win for me!
The People's Hero Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 If £50 is being bandied about, I could really do with some cash right now!

Leeds are much better off then us their debt will be wiped out at the end of this season. So both clubs are in a much better position then us.

andyh1884 Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Went to an audience with Rob Kelly at Alliance & Leicester yesterday and he mentioned it a couple of times that he'd love 'someone who used to be chairman of a club on the south coast to come up here and give him a large budget for players' he also said that it'd be the perfect club for someone like him cos it's a real 'community club'. Not that him mentioning it means there's any truth in it but you never know

The People's Hero Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 If a large amount of money were to be made available.. hands up who'd want to see RK entrusted with it? And who'd be cringing like me at the thought of what shi te he'd tempt in with the wonga?
