Not necessarily. Derbyshire never had a realistic chance of winning whereas a declaration would’ve tempted them. Temptation would’ve meant more risk taking.

I would have still delacred set them 375. Batsmen push it then and you get chances. 9r at least would have used Sunday evening to push it along. 

 

I guess with the current points system a draw pays.

I dont think there is anything wrong with that captaincy. Derbyshire attempted to chase it so you can hardly say we judged the balance wrong.

 

Bowling for a win is always tough (depending on the state of the pitch). Pitch seemed to play well.

 

Good performance, for me.

Took a ridiculously good diving catch to his left to help the Foxes take their first wicket today.

 

Hull's gone wicketless so far on his return from injury with four for Trevaskis and three for young Alex Green.

Yeah Derby is honking and Grace Road has tonnes more charm than Northants.

It's what the seconds should be, a pathway for the under-18s. A few seasons ago, the seconds used to win everything but was packed full of journeymen with no future here.
