it is possible to play good passing football in the CCC, ask steve coppell

...or Roy Keane...

For a club of our size and recent history to finish outside the top 10 of a lower league for THREE seasons running is completely unacceptable.

Let's hope we don't make it four.

We probably won't be able to catch up with the front-runners in Allen's first season.

But Derby showed last season what might be possible.

<stuff it's impossible to disagree with>

So, "what are people's expectations?" Reasonable ones like yours in my case.

I'd like to see us potentially able to make play-off zone, to be knocking around there for part of the season...but no one should expect us to be there come the end. If we are then it'd be a real bonus.

Everyone citing Derby as an example just seem to miss the point entirely. Scrambling up to fall down again is a pointless exercise...building in order to achieve promotion and stay up is the aim...and that is only done slowly.

Consolidate and grow, consolidate and grow.

For me we've got the ability to do anything, you just never know with the Championship how one team is going to perform in comparison with the year before, Leeds being a good example there. I know we can without a shadow of a doubt finish above where we have been for the last few seasons, it's just how far up we get. That also depends on what other signings are made and if we can get a proper team together, which we haven't looked like doing entirely for a few years now. I personally think we will be in the top 10, expecting to go up is possibly a bit strong for MA's first season - but you do never know.

I'd be disappointed if we're less than 10th and am starting to believe we should be on the fringes of play offs if we get some more decent players in. Very impressed with the close season so far from signing of Allen onwards - long may it continue

This has been said loads of times before - but it doesnt work like that.

They have the money, the have the Prem squads - but it doesnt always work like that.

Anything outsie the top six is failure you all know it were LEICESTER **** CITY now i hope everyone is gonna make some noise next season and not sit there like a load of old women.

We'll hopefully try and do the same as every season, get 50 points and then after then see how many we need to push for the play-offs !! but this year we might do a bit better than just 50 points and hardly any more than that !!

Top half finish would be a good start to the Manadric era, very tough league to get out of. The play-offs will be a step to far this year I think.

My expectations are fairly straightforward:

=============================

a) That we try to win all games with positive football and refuse to be intimidated into negativity by anyone.

b) That we wipe out any idea of "playing out" the closing minutes of any game.

c) That we never field teams which have defence overload.

d) That we continue to find the means and show the belief in developing our young players.

e) That we aim to score a minimum of 80 goals for the season.

f) That we get all our players in properly fit condition for their work.

g) That we refuse the tempatation to play ANYONE who is not fit.

h) That teams are picked fairly and on merit rather than diplomatically according to seniority, wages, the fact that the manager signed them, concern about pushy agents etc.

i) That we adjust our tactics according to the opposition/circumstances of the game.

j) That we play properly and fairly in a manner suited to the best traditions of Leicester City Foothall Club - that is without intimidating referees or engaging in disreputable tactics.

k) That we attempt to play football which reintroduces the words passion and excitement to the fans' afternoons and which therefore attempts to present the game as the spectacle and contest it was meant to be, totally unfettered by fear.

l) I would like Leicester to develop the sort of clan spirit (within the above framework) which re-establishes our reputation as a team of consequence and a team to be feared.

m) It is my belief that the above would ensure we were in contention for a play-off place but that is secondary to my wish that, as a fan, I should really look forward to supporting my team again, both home and away, in the justified belief that they will always be worth watching and always be giving of their best.

n) That our whole focus - in every area of the club - should be on producing something special. Promotion to the Premiership would be a wonderful outcome but first and most of all, I want us to get our pride back - pride in what we do, who we are and what we represent.

Good teams force the opponents to adjust to their game plan

I expect a squad of players who all want to play for this club and fight for the shirt, giving their all every game, and playing with passion.

I want a manager who instills passion and belief in the players and whom the players want to play for.

I want to see a team playing attacking football and creating chances- if that means long ball at times, so be it.

I expect a minimum of a top 12 finish, although really we should pushing for an outside chance at the play-offs. Depending on our signings, I reserve the right to refine that last expectation...

I expect us to be in touch with the play offs all season at least. If we can go into March with a chance of going up I'll be happy.

as above really. top 8 all season with teams fearing us, winning more than 14 games at home and being hard to beat away. entertaining football is not what i care for, i'd take a goal off of fryatts cock if he fancies it i will celebrate it all the same as if he'd beat 12 men and lashed it home from 30 yards. know wharra means?

Commitment, passion, playing until the final whistle fighting for every ball and good football in general.

I expect us to:

Play direct football

Be fitter than last season

Be more physical than last season

Struggle to get better crowds than last season

Lose Carl Cort to long-term injury by the end of the year

Not spend much money in the transfer market

Based on what we've got in terms of playing staff at the moment, I'd expect us to be relegated by March.

Based on absolutely no logic whatsoever, I expect us to flirt with the top six, before falling away to mid-table comfort.

Based on the fact that Mad Dog and Slightly Madder Milan are in charge, I don't really have a clue what to expect....

I agree, I want to see commitment from the players that they work so hard on the pitch that when the final whistle goes they have to practically crawl off the pitch. I also think this will help curb the drinking culture at the club as they wont have the energy to go out on the p*ss.

I think we have now got a manager who is full of passion and he will get that across to the team.

The signings are the key - if we get them right and the above happens we should be looking at the play offs.

Looking at some of the sides like Southampton, WBA and Preston they are going to lose some of their top players in the summer if they cant replace them someone is going to be taking their places around the playoff spots - why not us?

Thracian, when writing one of your famous lists have you ever run out of letters, if so what did you do.

12th or above would do me this season, and as long as he gets it done I'm not bothred how.

I just want to see a team who wants it again, to have the passion back thats been lacking, to show an improvement as a unit and not the odd individual. With a bit more quality hopefully coming in i'd like to see us finish around mid table - lower top half as an improvement on last season. Anyone expecting us to walk the league this year or become the dominant force I think will be in for a slight disappointment, although it would be nice, come on Martin, surprise us

Pretty much matches my expectations. I want to see commitment, hard work and effective tactics e.g. not playing the same in every single game and hoping for the best. I want to see subs come of the bench for a reason and I want us to stop teams from playing like we used to 8-10 years ago. In particular I don't want to see another season of city players with their heads down.
