Bert Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I thought he was good when he came on, and i hope he's in the squad for Saturday. Didn't look out of place, some good runs and intelligent touches.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I thought he was good when he came on, and i hope he's in the squad for Saturday.Disn't look out of place, some good runs and intelligent touches. He looked alright, he was involved in one or two passages of play where he looked very bright and very intellegent. He should be in and around the squad, but when all our strikers are fit I'm not sure he's one of the best options. Yet, he's ceratainly we've got to hold on to, and he needs to get a few first team games under his belt this season to further his devlopment.
Mark Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 He did really well on numerous occasions with some neat touches to set others up, far better than what Collins John has offered us (at least outside the box).
Simi Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Some very neat touches but Fryatt struggled to read them and he never seemed close enough to get them. Very energetic and seemed fearless after his first five minutes, he's definately earned a place for the game on Saturday I feel.
Mikey Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I thought he played well when he came on. Looked lively and was involved in lots of passing moves and also tried to move the ball around intelligently.
Cobbo Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Good old Chambo - was great to see him in there - really confident with one run I remember running at Loovens, knocking it one side and trying to out pace him to the ball running the other side. Hope we can get him more opportunities to play but when DJ, Cort and John are back I'm not sure he will be around the squad as much - in fairness this could help him in regards to suffering burn out.

Also, from other clubs poaching him.
The Reverend Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Average i thought. One decent run. Too lightweight.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 The thing about Chambers and Fryatt Hume DJ and John Is they are strong whent the ball is either played to feet or to run on to along the ground. Our PLayers seem to love the big hit up top too much.
Samilktray Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Showed some promise and more passion than alot of our players, but as has been said fryatt didnt seem intelligent enough to read them. Either that or he was just too damn lazy to try and get on the end of them... Both options seem probable.
Koke Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 He did well. Some neat touches and first time passes but Fryatt didn't quite read them. Should be in or around the squad, and I trust Ollie to develop his game a lot better.
teblin Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 Average i thought. One decent run.Too lightweight. Sounds like the 2 who started up front too. At this level you need someone up the with a physical presence.
Kilworthfox Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 Average i thought. One decent run.Too lightweight. Agreed he was not bad but did nothing really.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 I was very impressed with him. Lots of nice touches and didn't look out of place at all. That's all you can ask really of a 17-year-old making his league debut. Just wish he'd had a chance but was doing too much work on the edge of the box.
Fat Ron Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 I thought the boy did well, didnt look out of place and at 17 he is only going to bet bigger and stronger.
Raj Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 I thought the boy did well, didnt look out of place and at 17 he is only going to bet bigger and stronger. Thats what i thought when i was 17. im still 5ft 1 and 9 stone. But i did think the"boy' played well. Nice to see us finish off the game with alot of yoof. Tis promising for the emerging talent to know they have a chance at the club if they are half decent. I met Bert yday too
Cheese Me Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 Showed some promise and more passion than alot of our players, but as has been said fryatt didnt seem intelligent enough to read them. Either that or he was just too damn lazy to try and get on the end of them... Both options seem probable. Rubbish. Fryatt did well and was very unlucky not to have scored. I was also very impressed with Chambers. He gave a renewed spark upfront when he came and I'd like to see more cameos from him.
Ric Flair Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 I thought Chambers was very impressive in the final 15 minutes. He was just what we needed to take the game to Cardiff in the final stages. It was no coincidence that the introduction of Chambers and King gave the team a fresh injection of energy and Cardiff looked all over the place. We just lacked that quality in the box. Fryatt was wasteful last night, far too greedy at times. I hope Holloway can iron that out of his game because he's got great vision and can spot a pass, just only passes when the mood takes him. I know fine well that had some of those balls fell to Chambers in and around the box in the final few minutes he'd have smashed it on target. He looked to be on a different wave length to some of the other players, probably due to tiredness for some of them but he was putting the ball in space and the players weren't reading it. Should start on Saturday IMO.

Just unlucky How many times do I have to listen to people jabber on about Fryatt being unlucky-he's not good enough to score his share of goals to get us out of this division and he'll be slaughtered in the Premiership. He's just had a nine game goal drought and you're telling me he's just unlucky Chambers on ther other hand needs to be in and around the squad forget all this bollox about him being too young!

Ric Flair Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 Agreed and was also unable to read the good movement that Chambo showed. Hume was woeful. I don't know what on earth has happened to Hume, but his confidence is shot to pieces. I'm under no illusion that he's suddenly become a bad player, but I hope he can score a goal or two to boost his confidence as he's a hinderance when he's off form like he is right now. Was unlucky with that volley to be fair and he looked more useful when Chambers came on and he went out wide, seemed to get more time and space on the ball.

I was willing that ball to go in, like you say he desperately needs a goal. His confidence looked absolutely shattered on Saturday (still bemused by two of the broadsheets giving him MOTM ) and not too hot again last night - but was still an improvement on his performance at Bristol. Hopefully he can rattle in a couple of 25-yarders against Southampton on Saturday like last season.
Tommy G Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 I thought chambers was ok, nothing special. He needs to get stronger though otherwise he will just constantly get muscled off the ball like Fatty Fry up does. Good prospect none the less.
