Most of the senile old bats who live in Florida will have no idea what you are on about.

One of my favourite questions I have been asked:

"Do you have 4th July in England?"

Yep. Always between the 3rd and the 5th of July.

It's the fact a lot of them don't have a clue that amuses me. All that stuff about "do you know so and so?" or "have you met the queen?", it is amazingly true! It is very funny.

Other favourites:

"Are you Australian?"

Having to explain where everything is in relation to London. Even though some of them can't find London on a map.......

"Do they speak English in England?"

"Is England near Great Britain?"

"Oh my god, is England real? I thought it was some place on TV?"

That was the worst.

I did once get confused when some woman asked me where I got my pants from! I got it quite quickly though. Although I was very scared by the Fanny Lifter.

:crylaugh: Oh dear. Where in Norfolk?

Hang on, I'm in Norfolk... therefore it must be a lovely place. You could be lucky enough to bump into me :D (hmm, yeah, fair point - that really would put a dampner on your hols):whistle:

I'm going to a place called Syderstone, near Fakenham for a week, been there quite a few times with my family as a friend owns a cottage there which we can stay in for free. I don't mind going to places like King's Lynn etc. Many nice little pubs which should see me through it.

The best ones I was asked were

"Are you from England?"

Yes

"OH MY GOD, Do you live in London?"

No

"Do you live near London?"

No

"Do you know the Queen?"

The ammonut of times I've had that conversation.

I'm going to Norfolk :nono::huh:

There is nothing wrong with Norfolk. It's a lovely county, beautiful countryside, near the coast. Just odd accents, that's the problem. Thank God I don't speak with a Norfolk accent.

Off to Turkey for 3 weeks, day after the FT tourno. Only 60 miles from the Iraq border. May pay them a visit.

Holiday objective: Stuff the women - to but a Fenerbache shirt with C.Kazim on it.

Oh and if anyones going to Majorca (surely someone off here will!) make sure you visit the Foxes bar in Alcudia. Basically a city pub, shirts on the walls and everything, brilliant place.

Having a heavily pregnant Mrs at the moment flying at stuff is out the question so we might goto Cromer/Sheringham for a few nights before she bursts her bubble......Is it any good....and secondly will it be safe for coloured folk in that neck of the woods!!!!??? :D

I'm not having a go at him. I'm sure he'll have a great time. It just struck me as, well, I dunno, just quite a long time to go to Skegness.

I don't live too far from Skeg and a day at the most is enough, unless you're going with a group of mates and then a long weekend would suffice. Give me a week in Scarborough any day

I've went for a week when I was 16 and that, was a long time to go to Skegness for.

Two weeks! Someones having a laugh there! You don't go to Skeghole for two weeks! and that was before it burnt down!
