teblin Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Milan may well already know who his second choice is you'd hope. Or his 4th as the case may be
Daggers Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 I have it on good authority that... My daughter swears blind that High School Musical is the single best piece of television ever created.
Ric Flair Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Newell or Tilson for me PLEASE. Or Neil Lennon if we're gonna go for someone completely in-experienced.
PAULCFC Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Not for a second. You are an up and coming manager - do you seriously consider going to work for the most unstable chairman in football and a club of serial failures? Ince, as I have been saying, declined the offer to work for us on two previous occasions. Since then we have dropped a division and embroiled ourselves in more nonsense. As I said back when we sacked Holloway, Mandaric has been sending a clear statement to the world of football and it is "I can not be relied upon". He was an object of comedy on 5Live the following weekend - his actions in hiring and firing have resulted in us being totally unable to attract any managers of talent. Again, I said at the time, we should have stuck with Holloway because replacing him would prove to be a big ask. Now, like before, we know that whoever gets appointed will be a long way from first choice. Mandaric needs to pull a rabbit from the hat because without one, and a massive dose of luck, he is going to be coming in for serious flack.
Phlashman Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 I have it on good authority that Ince made it beknown to Messrs Mandaric and Aldridge that he would be interested in the vacant manager's job at LCFC, this was before the Blackburn link though. Then isn't it a case for Ince to show he's got a pair and quit the dons? Plymouth refused Holloway permission didn't they?
Joe. Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Newell or Tilson for me PLEASE. Or Neil Lennon if we're gonna go for someone completely in-experienced. Newell would definitely be my first choice but I've resigned myself to it not being him with the lack of coverage his name has got in all of this and the inevitable clash in characters between him and Mandaric.
Tilley Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Newell would definitely be my first choice but I've resigned myself to it not being him with the lack of coverage his name has got in all of this and the inevitable clash in characters between him and Mandaric. True that, Hardly been mentioned, So who does everyone think is second choice after Incey.
Samilktray Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Newell would definitely be my first choice but I've resigned myself to it not being him with the lack of coverage his name has got in all of this and the inevitable clash in characters between him and Mandaric. I genuinely had a dream last night and Newell was appointed our manager. As pointless as this is, its true.
Dr The Singh Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Newell or Tilson for me PLEASE. Or Neil Lennon if we're gonna go for someone completely in-experienced. I'd take him!!
teblin Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Then isn't it a case for Ince to show he's got a pair and quit the dons?Plymouth refused Holloway permission didn't they? Yes they did but it looks like from the statements that both Mkl dons and Milan made that Ince didn't want our job.
MikeyT Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 So, as far as i can remember, didnt Milan say he wanted a manager appointed by the 16th of this month...well if thats right then he has only got 3 days till then! Hmmmm!
Number 6 Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Looking at Gregory's past record at all clubs and taking into account his percentage of wins draws and losses, I reckon he would get us 60pts in a 46 game season, last season that would have had us 14th. This isn't taking into account that in Gregory's last 2 jobs he has performed significantly worse.
Tilley Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Looking at Gregory's past record at all clubs and taking into account his percentage of wins draws and losses, I reckon he would get us 60pts in a 46 game season, last season that would have had us 14th. This isn't taking into account that in Gregory's last 2 jobs he has performed significantly worse. You just have to look at his time with QPR, disaster. Any one of Davies, Newell, Tilson or Grayson will do for me.
Corky Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Why do most people seem opposed to John Gregory? I have no particular view on the guy. But why the hatred? I seem to remember similar 'please not Glenn Roeder' type posts ins recent years. Didn't do too bad at Naaarch.Sensible answers please. Saying he's a to%ser doesn't shed much light on it all Because I used to watch with absolute joy the Villa teams he brought to Filbert Street, spineless, negative and completely disorganised. He is not a good manager, as he proved at Derby.
Ric Flair Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Then isn't it a case for Ince to show he's got a pair and quit the dons?Plymouth refused Holloway permission didn't they? As I said previously, his interest in us was before Blackburn were linked with him and since then I think he's had a change of heart and is holding out for a bigger and better placed club and fair play to him. He doesn't want to keep changing clubs every few months.
MikeyT Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Because I used to watch with absolute joy the Villa teams he brought to Filbert Street, spineless, negative and completely disorganised. He is not a good manager, as he proved at Derby. I echo that response!
Number 6 Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 You just have to look at his time with QPR, disaster.Any one of Davies, Newell, Tilson or Grayson will do for me. Davies record gets him about 67 pts a season, would have been 8th last season.
bald reynard Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 1. Grayson 2. Newell 3. Davies 4. ANYBODY OTHER THAN GREGORY (well, mostly anybody !) Has there been any news about MM trying to get permission to talk to Grayson - does he HAVE to publicise an approach ?
He's not bald Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 So, as far as i can remember, didnt Milan say he wanted a manager appointed by the 16th of this month...well if thats right then he has only got 3 days till then!Hmmmm! No...15th and that's 2 days by my reckoning!
teblin Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 "I want a manager who has a bursting desire to come to Leicester City Football Club. That is my number one criteria." this is a interesting statement! Could mean grayson, Newell or someone else who has close ties. Could also be reading to much into this.
DBEightyFive Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 does he HAVE to publicise an approach ? No approach has to be made public
Jonezy Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Oh well, Ince didn't want to come. This was Ince's decision, not MKD's, I'm sure. Going to be interesting to see, who we will get now. I hate this wait, it creates uncertainty, and a feeling that whoever comes in, was not really first choice. We are a circus.
Ric Flair Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Blackpool's chairman is on holiday until this weekend, so we'd have to wait a nother day r so before we could get permission to speak to Larry.
