I hear the shopping is good and the nightlife is to die for.

Bollocks bollocks bollocks Cheltenham bollocks bollocks bollocks >_<

:giggle: Can't beat Chelmsford for sightseeing (depending what sights you're interested in, of course). :P

I was looking forward to an end to the manager speculation and then the inevitable whinging about the appointment. Hooray - that's all done and dusted now.

It's time to look to the future:

I am excited at the prospect of the many away days coming up and a season in L1, going to work on Mondays with a voice croaking from a Saturday afternoon's punishment. I can't wait to go Yeovil, Chelmsford and the Cobblers.

I'm anxious to see Porter back to the team, I'm thinking he could destroy teams in this league if he's allowed to support the front two from deep midfield. Not to mention our youngsters being bloodied in the first team and a couple of decent additions over the summer. Whether he can withstand the tackles he's going to receive is another matter entirely. I hope Maxi hasn't been over-hyped, I've never seen the lad play and yet the thought of having a winger who can actually run, cross and score is mouth-watering.

And then there's the Holy Grail of anticipations - the first back2back win. As they almost say for the little crème eggs, how will you celebrate yours?

Chelmsford! We been relagated to the conference already?:giggle:

No, we'll probably end up there in the FA Cup 1st round (the Friday night live game on Setanta).

I'm looking forward to some new grounds and pubs, and hopefully a winning season.

It seems an eternity since we last had one of those.

Going to Tesco at 8am to get a few tins for the journey to Peterborough. Mid day kick offs are the future, thanks Barry Fry. SARCASM OVERLOAD

I think the onus is now on YOU to provide a coherent argument as to why you don't rate him.

I don't completely agree with Daggers. 21 minutes of impressive wing play isn't enough for me and in the games I saw him play in before he wasn't as convincing. But then he was being restricted by a defensive minded manager. I'm not getting my hopes up because it's always difficult to predict how a player will respond after a long term injury. But I am looking forward to seeing him play and I do think he could cause a lot of problems to full backs in League One.

So smokey, for what reasons do you think he's "shocking"?

Porter was undoubtedly a potential talent, hopefully his injury will not have had a detrimental effect on his overall future. I would have to say though that for me teams worked him out and snuffed out the threat very quickly and at the time of his injury he was in need of showing his ability to step up to the plate and overcome these limitations that had been exposed. Whilst those around him did let him down on occasion, it is wrong to think that he should not shoulder some of the blame. He was at best okay player in a poor team.

Oh, and I'm looking forward to us keeping the ball from a throw in.

A five year habit is hard to break.

Any night home game in front of 14,000 people

Stockport - Round 1 in front of 1,000 people

JPT - Round 1 in front of 500 people

Hard to look forward to anything good in this league.

I'm looking forward to the clouds lifting at last.

Sometimes football works like the passage a sailing ship, with clubs slipping into the doldrums for seasons on end only to finally catch a breath of wind and suddenly start skimming the waves again.

On the face of it we're well enough set with a mostly decent crew, the time to get shipshape and a new, still youngish skipper with much to prove.

All that worries me is having Mandaric holding the tiller.

First he took us into the squall that was Martin Allen, then he guided us up Gary Megson creek which left us stranded and finally he steered us into the Plymouth Rock that was Ian Holloway, where we immediately started shipping water and finally sank (see DavieG illustration!).

Pearson's first role is to act as a bouyancy aid and, once we're refloated and important seaworthy trails completed, perhaps we can plot a steady and sustainable course towards the treasure island of Premiership football which drives Commodore Mandaric like Moby dick drove Captain Ahab.

Failing that, those back-to-back wins would be a start. :D:thumbup:

Just come back from Skeggy then? :giggle:

I'm looking forward to the sudden hightened level of opptomism caused by loads of signings that appear to be good on paper (and those signings good at earning paper) the prospect of a new and great era for leicester city football club, the club going into turmoil shortly into the season, then the team doing something sporting, a cup run of sorts, players disgracing themselves on holiday aboard when they should have been training, the then obligatory win after this followed by a poor run of results, fans calling for the managers head, and then a mid table finish.

This club - it's never dull! :scarf:

hoppefully, i will get to see city play for the first time in ages at either kettering or luton.

a good run in the fa cup so we might get some television coverage.

sadly, most of what i am looking forward to is merely stuff i am 'hoping' will happen...so, i guess i would say mostly i am looking forward to seeing who is man enough in our squad to stay and fight and how NP deals with all the crap and deadwood.

I'm looking forward to 'Ollie the clown' taking over at MK Dons, then we give them a good thrashing on opening day with Hume playing up front and bagging a hat-trick
