Houdini Logic Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 That was so funny when every chanted ROONEY ROONEY at the kid selling programmes, and being escorted back to the station. "Your going to get a lifetime ban" and the fat policeman who couldnt put his baton away  . Wtf happenned at the station though?? Me and my mate were looking from the opposite side of the Station. Who threw the ball at that poor kid?
Unabomber Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Who threw the ball at that poor kid? Whoever it was, they are a twat. Rooney didn't seem too bothered though.
Nod.E Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Howard missed a penalty though. Oh, we might aswell give up now then! I didn't know that was an indicator of a bad season. Mind you, he is shit. And I want him to feck off.
Babylon Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Wouldn't play Worley and Morrison together. I think they both look okay but the centre-back position worries me a bit. N'Gotty seems to be over the hill and Tunchev won't exactly organise the defence until he masters the bloody language first. Exactly what I said before yesterdays game and got shouted down for it. I think it's obvious players will not come in until someone goes out. When Clemence is fit I expect him to go, that will free up some money for a new midfielder. Mattock is rumoured to be off all the time, not sure what's going on with him playing... hopefully city playing hard ball over the price. If we get a decent wedge for him them that should be enough cash for a couple of players. On top of that hopefully we can shift one more striker and N'Gotty and replace them. If we managed that... I think i'd be happy, until I saw them play
billyfox1 Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 During the commentary it said there would be an interview with MM about transfers. Did anyone hear it?
Daggers Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Exactly what I said before yesterdays game and got shouted down for it. It's really tough to get that last nail in when you are crucifying yourself, eh?

Guest ttfn Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Nobody would get more than 6 except for Kishishev and Gradel who'd get 7s. Weso was ok. Thought Logan had a shocker, his distribution was awful.

You're right about Logan. As Fez said last night I think, he ALWAYS looked for Gradel as his outlet. It'd be ok with some variation but it became to obvious and Gradel was face to face with a defender before the ball had arrived and he stood no chance. Morrison and Worley are fast developing the same problem McAuley and Kisnorbo had of just aiming shite balls to Howard, especially Morrison. The day we try and use a midfield and wingbacks to work the ball forward will be a good day.

The People's Hero Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 I've got a Curly-Worley in my lunchbox, bizarrely I think it was bought from Morrisons.
TrickyTrev Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Dyer, Wesolowski, Gradel and Kishichev came out with some credit but in general it was a pretty worrying peformance. Also Matty Fryatt was quite good in his brief appearance, lost a fair chunk of weight. Talking of weight, Conrad Logan is far too fat to be a professional footballer. Whoever said the goal was unstoppable is having a laugh, it was a lovely strike but it was about a yard and an half to the side of him at his near post and struck from 25 yards. Has to save that 95% of the time. His distribution was woeful and he never comes for any crosses. I hope Pearson has learnt something tonight, that the chubby one is not good enough. Morrison is shit. Not dominant in the air and bad distribution. Howard looked alright when Gradel and Dyer produced good service but he is such a mediocre footballer. Why oh why did we pay so much for a known donkey? DJ Campbell is Elvis Hammond. Gonna be a long season.

Tevez Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Morrison doesn't know whether he's coming or going. It's 2 games in pre season and he's just joined a big set up compared to his last. Have a word.
Houdini Logic Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Morrison seemed to be commanding the back line quite well yesterday - now all he needs to do is stop getting turned and look where he's kicking/heading the ball
Bryn Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Most people said Morrison looked good against Hinckley. I think you all need to chill out a bit.
l444ry Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Seems like a sense of reality is dawning at last. Nothing quite like shouting the praises of players based on reading about them. Oh well!!!
Shrenchel Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Seems like a sense of reality is dawning at last. Nothing quite like shouting the praises of players based on reading about them. Oh well!!! Yeah fook me, we're definitely doomed. We might as well drop out of the league now. Did you see Aston Villa lost 3-1 to Lincoln last week as well?! Deary me. I think they'll be headed for a record low points finish this season seeing as League Two clubs are doing a number on them.
Daggers Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Seems like a sense of reality is dawning at last. Nothing quite like shouting the praises of players based on reading about them. Oh well!!! Reality bollocks - this is just the shite madness of idiots knee-jerking across from love to hate on the back of 45 minutes of a meaningless friendly. Both are equally superficial and pointless.

Ah... but Mr. Shrenchel, you seem to be missing the point like many others. It's O.K. to lose "friendlies" when the club playing has a recent history of winning. Aston Villa DO have a recent history of winning so losing to Lincoln is irrelevant to them. Leicester City, however, do NOT. Therefore, performing well in "friendlies" is of more importance to City than Villa. Glossing over results in the name of fitness and bonding, whilst important, is just euphoric bluster.

Daggers Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Would be Daggers, but my views has been repeatedly made over the summer. Superficial and pointless, maybe. Knee-jerk... hardly. I am obviously referring to the glut of contributors who one minute are hailing a succession of world class signings one minute and damning them the next on the back of a clammy 45 minutes in Bedfordshire. I am fully cognisant that you have continually poo-poo'd the signings.
James. Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Can anyone confirm if we played in our red strip? And if so does that mean it is our new away kit?
davieG Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Some perspective: The average age of the team that started was a tad over 23 with 6 of them below that age and 4 of them new to the first team. The average age of the team that finished was 21+ with 5 of them below that age and 5 of them new to the first team. Admittedly I didn't go to the game.
