Batman: The Dark Knight

It's a great film - there's very little CGI and the whole thing feels very real, which you wouldn't expect from a super hero film. It's very intense, the drama never really lets up, and although it's well over two hours long it just flys by. I thought Batman Begins was ace, but this is even better

Heath was immense with an outstanding performance as The Joker, IMO he overshadowed Bale's Batman and deservedly so. If he doesn't win an Oscar for his role then I have no idea what you'd have to do to win one.

Batman Begins was brilliant and this film didn't disappoint on all the hype it received.

I love the direction Nolan's taking The Batman. Thank goodness hes removed the campness that Schmaucher left the Batman franchise in. I'd find it interesting to see if he plans on making it a trilogy and how he'd go about that or if from where TDK left off we'll see a Batman/Superman movie.

I knew it was going to be good as it is No.1 of all time according to the much trusted IMDB. Link

If anything I was looking forward to it so much that I was setting myself up for disappointment. I certainly was not disappointed. Amazing.

It's a proper cinema occasion. Go to the cinema to see the new film, it's got some laugh out loud moments and some 'Ughh!!' moments too which is fun to be a part of in something like this.

Saw it last night at Vue.

Its bloody awesome!!!

Heath Ledger was very good in it and i agree this role would have propelled him onwards. Such a shame.

Also though Gary Oldman was very good even though he didnt really do alot.

Michael Caine for me was just Michael Caine unfortunatly though. He never seems to be any different in any film. But would definitly say 9/10 for it!

Brilliant film!

I'm hoping to see it Wednesday night at the Odeon in town, what are the odds that it wont be sold out or whatever?

Or do you reckon i'll have to book in advance.

It's the first Orange Wednesday it's been shown. I'd imagine you have a very, very small chance of seeing it without pre-booking.

Isn't the black guy that used to make cameos in The Fast Show in this?

He is a policeman or some kind of general.

He was the commissioner.

I could rant on all day about how fantastic this film is but in all honesty theres a sick joke thread that needs me.

All i'll say is 10/10 im going again wednesday and i shall be watching it online tonight.

Dunno when Im going. Pretty soon though.

Even though it will more than likely be shit I need to see the X-files as well.

I promise you it will not be shit. And i can't wait to see X Files either. Thats my youth there!

The first X-Files movie was already sort of a letdown, and I've heard worse about this new one. Lacklustre story and totally forgettable!

Movies like that will never come close to the spirit of the original series - I think back and remember how scary it all was back in the 90ies when the title sequence came up on the screen. I had the curtains drawn and the lights out. Classic.

What's that film with that Shea LeBeuf guy being set up for something or other? Looked really good.

It's called Drink and Drive in LA

Saw the film today - it's good, but by no means great. My main gripe (and this goes for Batman Begins too) is that it's too real and not enough comic book. "Gotham" isn't dark and dreary enough and ironically, since it's called the Dark Knight, Bale's Batman isn't dark enough. Not as good as the first Tim Burton Batman film, which was class, nor as good as Ironman, which is the stand-out comic adaptation this year.

PS, Maggie has to be the plainest superhero's totty ever.

Not as good as the first(Batman Begins), the plot was disastriously flawed and rather ridiculious unlike the first film. The main actress was a poor mans Kirstens Dunst, and she minged, I was glad she actually died! The joker was good but by no means was it a oscar winning performance!

Overall i give it 6.8

Once - Really good indie-musical about an Irish busker and a Czech girl. Recommended 8/10

Paradise Lost - "Meh" teen slasher. 5/10

You Maggie dissers should be ashamed of yourselves. I thoought she was lovely, and if she lived near me I'd probably have a restraining order on me quicker than it takes to spell her surname correctly
