SamL Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 I don't think the Daily Mirror has been right about anything to do with Leicester over the last few years.
Salieri Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 Gonna swap Fryatt for Phil Gee and Ian Ormondroyd I heard. Sod Phil Gee, should be Fryatt plus cash for Ormondroyd! He may be about forty but im sure he'd still do a job! Peter Crouch was reported to have said recently "I have modelled my entire career on Ian Ormondroyd, for a tall guy, he really was the complete footballer." Allegedly.
Head Honcho Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 How are they gonna raise the cash to buy anyone? I thought they were skint
clazkel Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 Hopefully by the time the transfer window opens up our promotion prospects will be a little clearer than they are right now. If someone does come in for Fryatt in the January window I would let him go as I believe that this division is his limit. If you believe this league is his limit and in my opinion he has been one of our best players this season, does that mean the rest of our team are league 1 level aswell? I think he will make it at Championship level.
Koke Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 Fryatt found his level. If a substantial amount came in him in January from the Sheeps, I'd seriously consider it. Despite our managerial turmoil last season which limited Fryatt to playing time, I'm still not convinced that Fryatt is Championship material.
Lillehamring Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 i think he's still young enough to improve as a player, he's shown this season that he has the right attitude, with a decent squad around him, the championship shouldn't be too much of a step up... if we are going to push in the championship (should we go up!) we really need two 20+ goal scorers, we may be lucky enough to by one, but two would be unlikely, someone in the current squad really needs to be able to do the business next season. anyway, it's all a long long way off...
whitlock Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 Im guessing the rams have been alerted because of his goal tally so far this season. I dont understand how apparently Jermaine Beckford is so goood and now this is his second season again in league 2?
lildave3 Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 If you believe this league is his limit and in my opinion he has been one of our best players this season, does that mean the rest of our team are league 1 level aswell?I think he will make it at Championship level. Ludicrous.
maddog Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 Sell, sell sell. He's useless in the Championship.
BigGibbo Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 We should keep him until the summer! By then he would've scored twenty odd goals & we could sell him for a few million so he can be shit for someone else in the championship!
Jimmy Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 We should keep him until the summer!By then he would've scored twenty odd goals & we could sell him for a few million so he can be shit for someone else in the championship! not if he doesn't sign a new contract we can't, he could go for a pittance
BigGibbo Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 not if he doesn't sign a new contract we can't, he could go for a pittance That'd be a bummer but I won't lose sleep over it, I doubt we'll be going places in the championship with him spearheading our attack!
Lovejoy Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 If you believe this league is his limit and in my opinion he has been one of our best players this season, does that mean the rest of our team are league 1 level aswell?I think he will make it at Championship level. Have you been alive for the past two seasons? Would you care to point out how many goals Fryatt scored in the Championship?
Uncle Monty Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 Derby boss Paul Jewell is planning a January swoop for Leicester striker Matt Fryatt. (Daily Mirror) Plan away....
Joe. Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 No point in selling him yet, and I doubt he'd want to leave anyway. Personally I don't think he's good enough or will be good enough for the Championship but he deserves a fair crack at it with us should be get promoted and he keeps up his goalscoring form.
clazkel Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008  Have you been alive for the past two seasons? Would you care to point out how many goals Fryatt scored in the Championship? Yes i have thanks, i've got a season ticket and went most of the away games last season and so far this season and no i don't care to point out the goals Fryatt scored in the championship because i think we are all well aware as it comes up on here time after time
20mj08 Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 alright calm down clazkel no need to get the water works going because theres 'speculation' of marmite leaving to sh#g sheep on another point though we brought a championship 'goal scoring machine' uin howard and more so in dj

iancognito Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 I'd be amazed if this was anything more than made up b0ll0cks to fill a few column inches. Besides, it's October, the world could be bankrupt and on it's arse by January. The paymasters at Derby - whoever owns them this week - will have bigger priorities than giving their less than convincing manager another 6 figure sum for a less than convincing Championship striker. He can finish - the goal against the shaggers two years ago proves that - but I doubt he's much better than anything they've got already.
