davieG Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 Leicester City look set to register one of their biggest home attendances of the season when Northampton Town are the visitors to the Walkers Stadium on Saturday. Over 23,000 supporters were inside the ground for the club's opening day fixture against MK Dons in August - and that remains the club's highest attendance for the campaign to date. But City now look set to challenge that figure this weekend when the Cobblers come to town. Northampton have sold over 2,500 tickets for the game - making for a great derby day atmosphere inside the stadium on the day. And with the game also marking the club's annual Remembrance Day fixture - it plans to be quite an afternoon. The events will kick off with the delivery of the matchday to the stadium - by a Squirrel helicopter of the Defence Helicopter Flying School at RAF Shawbury! So make sure you get to the stadium early to make sure you don't miss any of the action. Home league attendances so far. 23,351 17,798 19,591 18,875 17,178 They could sure do with a bump.
Simi Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 So it's basically the away support that have made our attendance look bigger than usual for this game?
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I hope so...I'm dragging 5 mates up from Bournemouth with me for this one I'll look a little silly if we don't win ccccccc'mon lads
SamL Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 It's a bit early for the annual Remembrance Day Fixture isn't it? I'd have thought it would've been our game against Bristol Rovers.
syston_fox Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 It's a bit early for the annual Remembrance Day Fixture isn't it? I'd have thought it would've been our game against Bristol Rovers. Or even actually on Rememberance Day against Yeovil. Why bother having it so early early... unless they're thinking bigger attendance and therefore more money raised?

SamL Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 Or even actually on Rememberance Day against Yeovil. Why bother having it so early early... unless they're thinking bigger attendance and therefore more money raised? You've made a valid point, I'd forgotten about that game. If our Remembrance fixture is going to be on a Saturday, there's likely to be a higher attendance than a Tuesday night fixture so it's possible they'd make more money.
Raj Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 Tis abit sad but im actually looking forward to this game(did i mention i missed the walsall game!?) My last live football was Foxestalk whupping them other lot!!!

James. Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 So it's basically the away support that have made our attendance look bigger than usual for this game? No it's because I'm going.
Corky Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 Expect the attendance to be around 19,000 now the club has hyped it up.
dilko2008 Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 The Helicopter will put thousands on the gate!!
Jimmy Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I'd be surprised if the Leeds game isn't the highest attended game come the end of the season, it's the only 1 the casual fans will care about
leicesterseddon Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 If the club starts hyping up a game's possible attendance, it means one of two things: 1) A very good attendance 2) They're fooking desperate to sell tickets
lookwhaticando Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I can just see the headline on the OS a week before kick-off: IT'S A SELL OUT! Official attendance: 18,975.
Lovejoy Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 The events will kick off with the delivery of the matchday to the stadium Might that be the matchball by any chance ?
coolcat Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 Let's hope that's nothing to do with the helicopter landing
CKB Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I am gonna take a wild guess and predict 21 billion people in the Walkers Saturday! yes 21 billion
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I am gonna take a wild guess and predict 21 billion people in the Walkers Saturday! yes 21 billion Blimey - the OS would still manage to play it down and offer some remaining tickets on the rooftop for the desperate few who couldn't get in...
