Mandaric targets Premier League

Milan Mandaric believes his dream of taking League One leaders Leicester back to the Premier League within three seasons is still achievable.

The Foxes currently hold a nine-point lead at the top of League One and the chairman is already looking ahead to next season.

"We have to give it a go," he told the Leicester Mercury.

"I am not saying we are going to be in the Premier League, we are not even in the Championship yet, but this is what all the hard work, the investment and everything is for."

"We are an ambitious club and I am quite sure Nigel is keeping an eye on certain players, and all he needs to do is knock on my door and I will be there for him."

Milan has the worst timing ever to release these quotes to the press! I mean, come on Milan, history has shown whenever you come out in the press it all goes tits up!!!!

Chill mate. Huge effort for us to fuck up league one from here.

Of course he could have waited til we actually won it, but there's no need to panic.

It is a bit premature but Id rather an optimistic chairman than pessimistic.

I have a feeling we will be in the mix next season in the Championship, i think it's healthy to have a chairman saying this, maybe at the wrong time though.

There's nothing like heaping additional, unnecessary and unwelcome pressure on managers and players.

We all know what the ambition is. For a club in Leicester's position it would surely be the ambition of any chairman.

But Mandaric's psychological naivity makes me cringe at times.

Despite the increasing hype we are not even promoted from League One yet.

And nothing about either the team or our manager yet convinces me we'll necessarily be good enough o win The Championship - and that's even before other club's have their say.

Milan doesn't need to talk. I heard enough of that when he took over and steered us straight down the plughole of relegation.

He just needs to do. And leave the fans to make the noise.

He can target the Premier League all he wants, aslong as he doesn't demand it. Next season is about stability for me.

DEMAND IT!!

Let's be fair to MM though. Would you keep quiet if you owned the football club?

His heart is in the right place & his intentions are good & IMO very sincere.

But making these bold predictions is putting more pressure on Pearson and the players, who have very tough jobs at the moment.

His heart and intentions might be good but if he takes a back seat, like Lerner for example, or Kenwright, success can be achieved and he won't look ridiculous if it all falls apart.
