Giving this thread a bump to recognise Leicester Tigers doing what very few sides have done - going to Munster and turning them over.

It's good to see they're making a good fist of Europe this year as too often they flatter to deceive - winning the league (or getting to the final) every year then falling flat in Europe when they could do much better. Hopefully this year will be different - with the way their group is right now they've got to be looking at topping it and getting a home QF.

I reckon you have missed the fact, that Leicester was the biggest European club, then when the French had money

to buy and pay high wages, enticing the cream of the world in the last 6-8 yrs.Tigers still competed in a very unbalanced

European cup.We have rebuilt in typical tigers tradition, and are slowly becoming a force again.

Our long association with League and Europe in the last 20 years is still second to none. Many teams have come and gone

Tigers have always been competing, even in the weaker seasons.

Not forgetting we were untouchable, we were the club other clubs tried to aspire to.Strangely IMO I was happy

that Saracens and Northampton, now Exeter are more than competitive, and now have their eras.

The French and Irish issue has becalmed somewhat.

With all those varying changes swings in power strengthening, Tigers still stayed a model club who competed

at the highest level, where other clubs Europe wide still knew they had to better what we did .

Leinster, Racing, Toulouse, Ulster, Stade Francais have now a worthy modern History.

If it hadnt changed, Leicester and two other teams of the moment,

would have made the football world of Celtic and Rangers look incredibly exciting.

Nothing wrong with a good game of Rugby!!!!

Nothing wrong with rugby at all , but I will say it's more of a class conscious game here , working class folk seem turned off by it.

Where I come from the docker and the doctor play together there is no real class divide,

But it's obviously a slow Friday in some people's lives if this is a laughing matter

lol

I'm going down Sunday. Beers on the terrace. Everything you wish #moderndayfootball should be

And little risk of getting a hot pie in your face for wearing a gold and black top

lol

Exactly. No chance of a rugby fan wasting pie most of them are too fat from all the beer they've drank. TIIIIIIGERS

There's no actual evidence that any of that happened anyway, but it's no new news that James Haskell is a complete bell anyway, everyone knows that. I've played in teams for rugby, cricket, football, hockey and the worst I ever witnessed was the university football team, actually to the point that myself and one of my friends, felt things went too far and walked out.

Anyway, in a much nicer rugby related story. Following the terrible news of Anthony Foley passing away last week, Ulster have erected (or will be at least) a plaque to honour him in their away changing rooms (Munster did the same thing in 2012 after young Ulsterman Nev Spence died trying to save his father in a farming incident). Also, the Ulster faithful showed a fabulous show of support with a wonderful rendition of Munsters anthem, The Fields of Athenry on Saturday night against Exeter. :appl:

Apart from four eye witnesses, although its's a bit strange they recorded over the security camera footage  Didn't Haskell once film his room mate (a rugby player) having sex.

Even Rugby has changed over the years....

Remember the days of Dean Richards taking in big gulps of air 3-4 minutes into the game! lol

Also remember watching Rory's 'kid brother'  making his debut for the Tigers and thinking he wont be as good!

Brian Moore turning up to court on a Monday morning sporting right shiners and stiches on an eye wound!

Those were the days!

Anyone who is a Tigers fan - Matt Toomua is out for 6 months after getting injured in just his second game.  Massive shame. I was really looking forward to seeing a world class player, in his absolute prime, do his thing for Tigers.

Tigers really do have some terrible luck with injuries. They've got potentially the best centre partnership in European rugby (Toomua at 12, Tuilagi at 13) and they're both crocked.
