Sly Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 The boy has talent and a lot of potenital. No one can doubt that, it's just that sometimes you need to take a step sideways befopre you can advance again. I think Mattock has reached that step with Leicester. The value, if £1m is correct is annoying, I'd question what we get as compensation at the end of his contract. I'd hazzard a guess and say more than £1m, so I can't see that value holding?
dandannieldanok Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Dyer ignoring the incoming corner to kiss Bruno's boots. Couldn't see such respect being shown to Mattock Nice on Kingy, completely blocked off Brown which caused the goal.
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 And that's all I've got to say about that. It's not worth the effort.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 I've re-written my post on here on the subject originally for Vital Football: http://www.leicester.vitalfootball.co.uk/a...le.asp?a=165311
purpleronnie Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Yeah massive step up, can't blame a 19 year old for wanting to leave his beloved club for a team who are playing in the best league in the world... If you think Leicetser have more chance of playing in the premiership before WBA you're deluded.
markbsac Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 If you think Leicetser have more chance of playing in the premiership before WBA you're deluded. i dont.....most relegated clubs as we did have a great chance of going straight back up......its what mattock said about us and the players that has angered me
Hugo Sanchez Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Judas for moving to West Brom.Brilliant Well he's hardly a fricking hero now, what did he say at Southend away ? Also they way he went about leaving Leicester and the way he treated Pearson and now taking the piss in interviews ... Sorry i don't see the funny side as you do.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 If you think Leicetser have more chance of playing in the premiership before WBA you're deluded. No i don't but why Leave Leicester for another championship club ? West Brom are a yo yo club. Hardly a forse even if they get back in the Premiership.

flanimal Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Mattock is a shit for saying West Brom have better players and play better football than Leicester. I would fooking be ecstatic if we can beat West Brom home and away, show that little twat what it's all about. fook Mattock, he can eat shit. Hope Brom stay in this division, would serve all the glory boys right.
Bryn Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Can I ask someone by what stretch of the imagination WBA AREN'T a bigger club? (Mainly aimed at FIF but he's probably not the only one thinking it). Better history - a League title and 5 FA Cups Better recent history - Have been in the Premier League, and have retained Premier League status within the last 5 years. More money - Parachute payments More likely to go up We've perhaps got a bigger cachement area but their attendances are unlikely to be drastically less than ours once the season is well underway. I don't want to be gloomy but I really dislike bias, it's incredibly ignorant to belittle West Brom as a club in my opinion. Especially as it's not them being tossers, it's Mattock for the timing of his decision and the lack of grace to us as the club that reared him.
flanimal Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 They're perhaps marginally bigger at the moment. Far history means fook all to me, by that Preston are a big club because they they won the league in the early 20th century. They're currently richer, and they have some players that did alright in the Premier League, but time will tell whether they are as big as people claim. They got good players on the way down, we have less known players on the up, who are the result of judicious buying rather than throwing around parachute money.
iancognito Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Us finish above WBA?!Are you serious Yes. There's no guarantee that West Brom will do well this season. Leeds, Norwich, Southampton, Charlton & Forest were all favourites or second favourites to go up after relegation - didn't happen. If you think Leicetser have more chance of playing in the premiership before WBA you're deluded. You've gotta love positive thinking. It's that attitude that'll keep us scrambling around in mid-table and feeling lucky if we do well. I got confused at the WBA are a bigger club bit. Exactly. Aside from the last 4 years of yo-yoing and getting parachute payments there's little difference between the two clubs. In fact if anyone had suggested ten years ago that West Brom were even close to us in terms of their size, I'd have laughed them off the forum. Somewhere along the line someone has given the kid bad advice. Maybe his agent has seen a payday, maybe one of the other U-19s has tapped him up, I don't know but the comments afterwards are very much like Paul Kitson going to Derby. At least no-one made him pose with a farm animal on the local news like that floppy haired twonk did.
Bluefoxtim Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Haha anyone else hear the interview on the radio? Along the lines of... "It's always great when you hear managers like Robert - Roberto, Di Matto - Di Matteo are interested in you". Might give Beckham a fair go in a general knowledge quiz.
Narborough Bod Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Haha anyone else hear the interview on the radio? Along the lines of..."It's always great when you hear managers like Robert - Roberto, Di Matto - Di Matteo are interested in you". Might give Beckham a fair go in a general knowledge quiz. Not really a surprise after his genius interview after the Yeovil game. I really couldn't care less that he's gone providing we get more cash than the £1 mill being touted. Berner has a decent brain and isn't the fastest but can adapt to this with quick thinking. Let's just move on.
Panz Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Like others have mentioned Mattocks lack of progression over the last couple of years makes it less painful. I think he's been influenced into this by other players and agents, he's still a young impressionable lad and looks like someone who thinks he knows what he's doing but when you hear him talk in his interviews he doesn't seem very assured in himself though that could just simply be dumbness! What does upset me the most is that he was a Leicester lad born and bred and he came up from the youth team, I always feel a special affinity to players like that. However he's gone now so it's time to move on but yeah it would be great to beat WBA and bid him farewell from the pitch with a wave of a finger!
Wycombe Fox Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 If you think Leicetser have more chance of playing in the premiership before WBA you're deluded. I'll have a tenner of the Queen's finest sterling with you that we finish above WBA this season. If it means us going up and WBA staying in the Championship, what about doubling it? Fancy taking the bet (to purpleronnie only and as long as I'm still in work!)?
Pegosteve Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 I'd have more respect for him if he had admitted he'd gone for the money and then for him to make the comments about the club (he loved to play for etc) KNOB.

Daggers Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Have I had another 'mare? I'd take that bet in a snap - there's not a hope in hell we're finishing above the Baggies.
