Babylon Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 Oh dear I sense bad times at the club....Thanks for all the information KIA but please don't risk your own position at the club getting to emotionally involved on here, I know Maxi is a friend but just be careful, besides who will tell us the latests transfers Always appreciate you take time out to inform us fans something the club don't. For the record i love Maxi and think he is exactly what we are missing!! DNG isn't any better Bad times? Ha ha ha WTF? Yeah it's terrible that the bloke who took us to 3rd/4th in the league thinks our squad is good enough to send a player out on loan who didn't particularly set the world alight last year. I'm not sure how we can all sleep at night.
Bert Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 If Gradel is so bloody brilliant, then why isn't he in our first team? We're currently 4th in the championship, without Max.
Guest Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 I meant off field Why, what's happening off the field?
Babylon Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 If Gradel is so bloody brilliant, then why isn't he in our first team? We're currently 4th in the championship, without Max. You're forgetting we'd be clear top with him, sheehan, porter and dodds in the team.
Babylon Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 Why, what's happening off the field? KIA and max aren't happy... So naturally there are big problems behind the scenes, Pearson will leave. Fryatt will as for a transfer. Mandy will sell us down the river and we'll get relegated.
Bert Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 You're forgetting we'd be clear top with him, sheehan, porter and dodds in the team. You forgot Elvis.
Katy Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 If Maxi wants to go and isn't happy then there's nothing we can do about it. I have a lot of time for Max, that goal against MK last season will live long in the memory. Unfortunately I know of a little girl who will be gutted when he goes, I felt the same when Tommy Wright the first left us for Middlesbrough
TonyDorigo Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 Fair enough, if that is his opinion though I don't really know why he's bringing the fans into it. He got a lot of love here, characterised by the fact he was one of the few players to have his own chant. He didn't crack out a 10 every game though so obviously some people are going to criticise him for his faults. Leeds fans would have been exactly the same and will be exactly the same once he's played more than an hour of football, my Leeds mates still regularly have a pop of Beckford despite the fact he continues to consistently score like a cvnt for them. Heard he gave the Leeds salute after he scored on Saturday, kind of pissin on every city fan who does love the geezer. It's not us that marginalised him, lied to him and sent him on loan. Hey, back again after congratulatiung you on promotion back in April/May. You look like you've set yourselves as real candidates for a playoff spot, maybe more. Good luck with that, you were a good attacking football-playing side and that's what i've always wanted to see in football. Regarding Gradel, he looks excited to play - some players can come to Leeds and be scared of the prestige and hype that comes with us, he's just ignored it and recognised his job, to play football, something he clearly loves. I for one can't wait to see him play 90 minutes for us. Just a little note, the bit in bold, Gradel did not do the "Salute". What he did do was pat his chest, open hand, to his heart, as if showing appreciation for the applause he was getting. Personally, I doubt the lad knows what the Leeds Salute is, if he does he did it mighty-wrong!! As such, I think it wasn't an insult to Leicester fans, but more an early thankyou to our set of supporters. Nothing more, nothing less. The vagueness of a hand from the chest outwards will always leave one fan going "OMFG HE'S DONE THE LEEDS SALUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!" and the rest will in turn follow. Please ignore the rumour, it's really not true! Good luck for the rest of the season!
TonyDorigo Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 What on earth is the Leeds salute? Hand made into a fist, beat it from your chest ourwards. If/When we play you again, you'll see it during the song Marching on Together where it goes "We love you LEEDS, LEEDS, LEEDS!" at the bit in bold.
Milky Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 Gradel owes a lot to Leicester. He needs to stop acting like a spoilt brat and man up a bit. He's only 21 ffs, and the club are thinking in both parties best interests in terms of his development. The long term contract is an indication of that. He chose us over Arsenal a few years back due to a lucrative deal and promises. Things probably haven't moved as fast as he expected but come on Max, you owe a lot to the staff at this club, and you've still got a future here.
Guest Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 What on earth is the Leeds salute? That's how I salute Leeds anyway

Mikey Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 I think Max is a good player, but come on man, he's only 21! He can't expect to just walk into a high-flying Championship side. If he does well at Leeds, comes back with the right attitude, knuckles down in training and shows NP he's working hard to improve, he'll get a chance. He's got to recognize this.
fleckneymike Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 He was asked to do no more than dyer last year... How many did he score and create? He/others are looking for excuses because he didn't perform when he played last year. Yes he didn't play as much as dyer who had a dip in his own form, but the number of times gradel didn't look up, put in a shit cross or just lost control and ran the ball out of play were numerous. Had he done anything to warrant getting the time Dyer did though?20 minutes for Leeds means and proves nothing, because his bigggest problem is doing it consistently. Frankly I'm sick of hearing about him, typical Leicester though looking for something to moan about when things are going well. He had a total of 7 assists. 3 less than Dyer from a total of 19 appearances (+13 sub) compared with 50 appearances for Dyer (+1 sub). Not that bad a ratio. I agree that he doesn't seem to have been given a fair crack of the whip compared to others but then others have earned their leniency through past deeds at other clubs.

Classic spin. Gradel took corners alot of the time, which aided his assist tally, Dyer didn't. Plus Dyer scored quite a few goals which you convenitently forgot to mention
maddog Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 Max Gradel must be easily our most overrated player. Adams has looked impressive when he's come on, N'Guessan has adapted very well, he came from League Two remember, and we haven't got disastrous results when Oakley has played there. MM may back us with a couple million in Jan and we could sign a new right winger if needed, lets just get rid of Gradel, NP clearly doesn't rate him and all this bollocks about him, or behind the scenes shit is pointless. Maybe the problems are down to Gradel not the club.

Dyer did score quite a few goals, the point I was responding to was what has Maxi contributed? In my opinion he contributed quite a few assists in relation to time spent on pitch.
crazylegs1984 Posted 2 November 2009 Posted 2 November 2009 starting to wish i didnt put that up now i rate maxi and think hes one for the future but like what has been said if he wants 1st team football then he should leave and possibly bring in a couple of mill lets just see what pans out and good luck to lad !

Captain... Posted 3 November 2009 Posted 3 November 2009 I want Max to stay I think he is an exciting player with plenty of ability and skill, maybe he lacks consistency but that comes with games and experience. I hope while he is at Leeds he gets some great experience and comes back a better player, and NP plays him. Unfortunately he could be a victim of our success, if we do challenge for promotion this year NP may be more reluctant to play him and unsettle a winning team. If we were hanging around mid-table and churning out lack lustre performances then he would be more likely to get his chance. On a side note if I was Max I would have been a bit concerned at the start of the season when we signed more strikers and wingers, and the return from loans of Adams and Campbell. If you look at the appearances this season Max is behind all of them, including DJ Campbell (which is disgraceful I don't care what NP thinks of him he shouldn't be near the team at the moment he was never good enough and his attitude stinks adds nothing more than a bit of pace and being continuously offside). If I were Max I would be pissed off at this the most, he may not be our best attacker but he is better than Campbell by far.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 November 2009 Posted 3 November 2009 Gradel is ours. Go away Leeds. £5 million please thankyou!

Plus Dyer scored quite a few goals which you convenitently forgot to mention Dyer also went through a 6 month spell of being garbage, Gradel wasn't even allowed to play badly 6 games in a row, nopt saying Gradel is the superstar Trhacian seems to think but he is a potential game changer/match winner we don't have too many of those, players with the ability to produce something from nothing and with a piece of magic earn us the points. I would be disappointed to see him leave without first being given a proper crack at the championship
