Samilktray Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Typical Leeds arrogance that! He's good enough to play (off the bench) for the mighty Leeds Utd but isnt good enough for little Leicester. They cant beleive it.. WE ARE IN A HIGHER DIVISION THAN YOU AND ARE DOING PRETTY WELL WITHOUT HIM (not including last couple of games granted!!) League 1 is his level, he's not getting a look in cos hes not good/consistent enough for Championship football Some Leeds fans I know also say the same things about Kisnorbo! Well he wasnt really saying anything like that. What a fucking daft overreaction.

Rocky Dennis Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I think he was just saying Max is a good player? Cheers for that Read the line I highlighted. A Leeds fan said the same thing to me without irony when we were joint top of the Championship!! I could understand it if they were Premier League??
lou Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I still dont think it was meant in the way youve taken it. To be honest I cant believe he cant get a game for us either!
Rocky Dennis Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I still dont think it was meant in the way youve taken it. To be honest I cant believe he cant get a game for us either! Possibly Not? Working in Leeds I hear it all the time though so only assume this person thinks the same, They still think theyre are one of the greatest teams in the land!! Its like us taking a player on loan from Spurs or Villa and being amazed he cant get in their team!

Its like us taking a player on loan from Spurs or Villa and being amazed he cant get in their team! The gap between League 1 and the Championship is no where near as big as that of the Championship and the Prem. Also, we're flying high this year and imo opinion have a squad capable of competing in the Championship. No arrogance intended here but I'm 99.9% sure we would at the very least give Leicester City a good game. I stand by what I said earlier, from what I've seen of Max, I am genuinley surprised he hasn't had a look-in with you boys. The lads got talent. Take it as a compliment ffs

The gap between the bottom half of the peremiership & top of the championship is no different from bottom of the championship to top of league 1 . Or how else could Hull ,Stoke & Burnley have got promoted on a shoestring & managed to compete quite nicely.
davieG Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 http://www.fansonline.net/leedsunited/article.php?id=339 Rumours emerging are strongly suggesting that Leeds United’s on loan Max Gradel could be poised to make a return to his parent club Leicester City. Gradel whose loan deal is set to expire in January has a 24 hour recall clause should Leicester wish to recall the 22-year-old from Elland Road. Leicester manager Nigel Pearson has suggested in an interview yesterday morning that the thought of recalling Gradel is something on his mind and Leicester are well within their right to do so. Leeds fans have warmed to Gradel since his impressive debut at home to Norwich City. Since arriving in mid-October, Max has made eight appearances for the club, seven of which from the bench. Gradel’s loan deal runs out on the 2nd January 2010, although whether Leeds wish to make a bid for the 22-year-old remains to be seen.
enex Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 hes extended his loan at leeds http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~1918724,00.html
Daggers Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 However Gradel will not be eligible to play in the F.A. Cup game between Leeds United and Manchester United this weekend. Good - we'll need him for the final.
MPH Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 what an annoying amount of time... why not till the end of the season? if they cant have him until then then either bring him back here and use him or let him go somewhere else for a good amount of time...

MPH Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 they can't extend until the end of the season until the transfer window opens its the 30th of January.... he cant even play in the FA cup game...
Jimmy Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 its the 30th of January.... he cant even play in the FA cup game... Its the 30th of December, the window doesn't open until 00:00hrs Friday and we have refused permission to let him play in the cup as Pearson has stated this loan move was to get him games, not the 1st step to selling him, the loan expires January 17th but would of expired Saturday
J.Lisemore Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 SSN say loan deal extended till 17th January.
J.Lisemore Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 SSN say loan deal extended till 17th January. EDIT: Already been posted in other thread
Tony Pine Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 93 days consecutive is the max.] according to tt
Legolas Posted 31 December 2009 Posted 31 December 2009 Loan extended, good news Was right in front of Max whilst he was celebrating his late winner against Leyton Orient - fell in love with the lad all over again Bit gutted in hearing we can only have him until the 17th though. Don't know the loan rules inside out but apparently theres a 93 day limit if it's only short term? Never saw him at Leicester but he looks as if he's enjoying his time here.

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Crunch-t...il/article.html Leeds United have told Leicester City they want to keep winger Max Gradel on loan for the rest of the season. However, sources at the Yorkshire club say City would prefer a permanent deal and a transfer fee. The Ivorian winger's emergency loan period at Elland Road ends on Monday and another short-term deal is not possible as Gradel, who is valued at about £200,000, has served the maximum time allowed under such a deal. The only option would be a long-term loan until the end of the season, and that would not include a 24-hour call-back clause. Gradel, who has been a big hit at Elland Road and has become a favourite with the Leeds supporters, has stated he would like to stay with the club. Leeds boss Simon Grayson has also made it known he would like to keep Gradel, but finances are still tight at the League One club. Grayson has only paid one transfer fee for a player since taking over as manager in December, 2008. The rest of his transfer business has been done entirely through loans and free agents. However, if Leeds sell striker Jermaine Beckford this month, that would provide the funds to buy Gradel. Beckford, who is out of contract in the summer, has had a transfer request accepted by Leeds and he could be sold for as little as £1.5 million, with Newcastle said to be interested. City boss Nigel Pearson has previously stated he was unwilling to sell Gradel, but he has recently said he would have to have to wheel and deal during the January transfer window if he is going to be able to bring players in to strengthen his side's push for the play-offs. It is believed Pearson has targets lined up but he will not move unless he can sell a couple of his fringe players. Owner Milan Mandaric told the Mercury this week that none of the players currently making a first-team contribution would be sold and said it was the players currently out on loan that Pearson may try to offload. Gradel made 19 starts and 11 substitute appearances last season, scoring twice, as City won the League One title, but he has found his opportunities limited this season. The arrivals of Dany N'Guessan and Paul Gallagher in the summer meant Gradel made only one substitute appearance before being allowed to join Leeds on loan. I think it would be a mistake to sell him in the first place but £200k for a guy who can change games? Hope this is bollocks.
davieG Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Well £200k wont buy us much as a replacement/boost to the 1st team.
teblin Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Well £200k wont buy us much as a replacement/boost to the 1st team. Might free up some cash for a loan deal?
