Max Gradel

gradel has got a bit big headed now leeds want him for good, he needs to be brought back down to earth a little bit, players go on loan to have valuable 1st team practice, i wouln't want him sold, thats not what on loan is all about.

Why would a kid in his early 20's need "bringing down to earth"?

Kids of his age should think they can fly.

They are biologically programmed to show a bit of cockiness and to outwardly display some belief in themselves, if only to turn the ladies heads when surrounded by competition.

Throughout history lads in their 20s have gone to war certain they can take on the world. They've ridden roller-coasters and sailed across the oceans discovering new lands and chasing their dreams.

The last thing the need is having cold water poured on on their zest for life and their belief that they can do anything.

As has been said before, what has he done to be worth more than £200k?

Scoring a free kick against MK Dons and coming off the bench in League 1 to score against Leyton Orient doesn't exactly boost your value.

We pay more for that for poorer players, I see average players leave other teams for more than 200k.

Gradel is a player that has the ability to change a game by himself, that alone values him at least at 500k. I would triple that if he did the same in this division but he hasnt been given a chance.

great news, now he's fit Pearson might be more willing to throw him in, or at least give him the same role he had at Leeds as an impact sub to change things when its not quite working.

does beg the question though, who is the play Stringer said is leaving

I guess NP read the article with the 200k written in and laughed and thought bollocks to that. But will MM still sell up?

Grayson is being interviewed on 5 Live and says they are still trying to negotiate a deal, whether it be a permanent signing or loan extension

Thought it was too late for a loan extension? :dunno:

Gotta agree with that, if one needs a ducking it usually comes by itself.

Gradel must be a really hard player to put a value on. Potentially he could be worth millions but that would of course involve correct coaching, management and luck. Any deal struck should have a 'sell on' clause so we don't miss out.

I really hope we don't sell him though.

Well it will be undisclosed knowing MM.

Won't be just MM who says it should be undisclosed I don't think.

I don't even know why transfers are 'undisclosed' in the first place.

So other clubs dont get an idea of how much your willing too/can spend on a player and so other clubs dont see the value you place on a certain type of player for future reference.

I think :P.

To prevent other clubs from fleecing you in the future.

Say you announce that you've sold and received ten million for a player, when you next go in for someone, that club will know you have ten million in your arsenal and will try and grab as much of the share as possible.

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has confirmed that talks with Leicester City over Max Gradel are ongoing.

The tricky winger is now back with the Foxes after making a big impression at Elland Road during his time on loan.

Grayson is keen to bring Gradel back, with a loan until the summer or a permanent switch two possible options.

Leeds' manager admits discussions are continuing, although he is unable to provide guarantees that Gradel will be returning.

"Talks are ongoing," he told the club's official website.

"He's Leicester's player, they were good enough to let him come here for a period, and we're talking with them.

"We're looking to see if something can be done, whether that be an end of season loan or a permanent I don't know. We'll see how things go."

Leeds' League One form has faltered of late and Grayson would like to bring in up to two fresh faces before the window closes.

"We're ongoing with things both in and out," he continued.

"I would like to bring in maybe one or two faces and there could be one or two go.

"Hopefully by the time the window shuts we might have a few fresh faces for the final push."

We're not fvcking Forest. They've got a team that cost almost 10 million to put together and they've still got queens heads to splash around. Whatever bollocks Milan might have sucked you in with, the fact is, we've clearly got to sell before we can buy and they don't.

what has milan got to do with my valuation?

the player that got the million bid they got for free and hasnt been used much this season.

so are you trying to tell me he is worth more simply because he is at forest and not leicester and because we leicester I should get used to crappy low bids for players?

If we sell gradel we sell, but get the proper money for him.

That made loads of sense mate, well done.

Forest don't need to sell. Even if they think an offer for one of their players is reasonable, they can reject it. Take a chance that the player will improve and progress, or use him as back-up in case they get a few injuries. We don't have that luxury.

It's not gunna be £200,000, maybe more like £400,000. Even that is not a particularly good offer for Gradel but if it's the only chance we're gunna get to open up some funds for a bit of transfer activity then maybe we have to take it.

I wouldn't piss on Ken Bates if his beard was on fire but he knows what he's doing. He knows we're hard-up and he can press us into taking a slightly below par offer.

Hmm. Could it be that Pearson let Gradel out on loan so that he could somewhat trick the Championship opposition? Sure - by now, Gradel's skills will have attracted even more interest from other clubs, the League One experience (and the tragic event in his personal life) have certainly made him a better player. Is it possible that Pearson wants to keep Gradel further off the radar in order to make other teams believe they were already facing a fully-settled Leicester side? Maybe Gradel could act as a welcome off-the-bench surprise in the months to come...?

Seeing that he's back, why not having a "hot" Maxi now tearing up Championship defenses in the second half of this season? Or should he join yet another club for another five months or so?

The only question to remain is whether players of the tiny posture of Gradel can make it on the second-highest or highest professional level (of any league)? Can you still hold his light weight against him?

Also, he seems to have gone off the boil slightly in last 2 or 3 games. Hardly getting rave reviews of their forum, can't see them forking out any significant amount for him.

Only been getting 20 minutes cameos some great some poor. Personally i would send him back and get the lad from oldham. Thoughts fanatics ?
if we can get him for 200k (?) then i'd take a punt.

If loan till end of the season then good, if 200k or under then good, otherwise i wouldn't bother.
Depends how much it'll cost us, can't see Gradel being a regular starter.
Decent option to have on the bench.

What started this belief that we're not playing Max because we don't want Prem teams sniffing round? He's a hot and cold player, not a secret Ronaldo.

I reckon there's a channel 4 series in that premise
