You reckon any decent right backs and right wingers are available?

Gradel, N'Guessan and Adams

Point taken

They aint fancied though mate. Adams NEVER plays

What about Wes Hoolahan or someone with a bit of creativity and passing ability in midfield? Carl Baker? someone like that?

Remind me of the last three results before today please you fickle arse.

It was a poor game today, some of the passing was dreadful but that's how it goes. We're newly promoted side positioned 5th with two games in hand on 2nd. It's hardly crisis point or 'same crap, every week'.

Every single game we have no width on the right and waste countless set pieces and lack pace up front.

Regardless of the results that is what happens every week.

NP has done an absolutely magnificent job, we have played badly in a lot of games this season and still got the results, which i think is mainly down to the Pearson factor and the same side under Kelly, Levein, Holloway et al would have simply folded.

Our results have been amazing considering the way we have played though, but we are pretty solid, tough to beat and don't seem to give up or fold, which is all thanks to Pearson.

And i never said 'same crap every week' and thats why i won the most fickle fan award :D

Good on you. :D

Words can't describe how excited I got when I saw there were other people joining in.

lol

As soon as I did the clap above my head i'm pretty sure I saw your jizz face.

Brown's touch was about as good as Gary Glitter's. McGivern is a bit unnerving. overall i think that, had they not scored whilst i was buying a bovil, we should have won.

Ipswich are draw specialists, 13 from 24 so winning was always going to be difficult.

I actually thought McGivern had a good game and recovered from a nightmare start - he seemed to be involved a lot, whereas some of our team went missing for long periods. He put in some good tackles, some good passes and could have nicked a goal. He just lacks experience, but he could be an excellent player given time.

Nielsen though seemed to be outclassed all afternoon. His mistake led to their goal, he just doesn't seem to have any situational awareness, pace or much skill on the ball. More evidence of the gulf in class between English and Scottish football.

More points dropped at home against bottom-six opposition, although I don't think Ipswich will stay there.

And yes, happy-clappies, I can read league tables too. It shows us eight points behind the thieves. No City fan worthy of the name should EVER be satisfied with that situation.

Sadly, it looks like we'll drop out of the top six in the next few weeks, as four of the next five games are tough away trips and the fifth is against the league leaders. On yesterday's evidence we'll be lucky to gain a point from any of them.

Last season, on occasion, Pearson fielded an entire back-four who were all capable of passing the ball rather than hoofing it at every opportunity.. Sadly, that concept has fallen by the wayside. The manager has seemingly sacrificed technical ability in favour of primitive brute force. I don't want to see us become a pale imitation of Stoke.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Oakley is no longer a Championship-standard player. On his all-too-frequent off-days he can drag the rest of the midfield down with him, and yesterday was yet another example.

Any sort of passing game would have seen us to a comfortable victory against a defence who were always shaky when the ball was played on the ground. The fact that we couldn't manage this is not a good sign for the forthcoming fixtures.

And as if the game and the result were not enough, Pearson's hints in the post-match interview that new signings wouldn't be arriving this month suggests that mid-table mediocrity is as much as we can hope for.

All perfectly true. Just 2 points to add.

The performance was typical of our play this season. deliberate longball tactics, tons of effort and resilience, precious little football. When the odd bit of passing football did break out it was quickly squashed, sad really.

We really do have the players to do better, why on earth are we making no attempt to move beyond hoofball? There is only one thing we need in the current window, a ball playing first team coach!

BTW The Sky commentator going on about our strength at set pieces! Is he on drugs??

It starts from defence. Brown is basically a poor mans Kisnorbo. At least Kisnorbo won majority of his aerial battles and he even chipped in with goals at the other end.

Steve Howard, as much as I love him, is also a big problem. When he plays, we are forced to play to his strength otherwise we are practically playing with ten men. And when Howard is in the side we are completely by-passing the midfield and it's just one hoof after another. Before Waghorn got suspended, I thought we were decent. We mixed up, we played long ball when we had to, and we played it on the deck when we had to. Waghorn's suspension + Forest & Bristol defeats meant that Howard had to come in and we went back to the basics.

It'll be interesting to see what sort of line-up Nige will put out against Swansea. We definitely do have the players to do better, and I'm sure Nige will rise to the occasion and produce the goods when people start doubting him.

Conceeding such a daft goal within 20 secs could have led to a mauling so in all it was a point V a team who although in the bottom end, haven't actually lost that many games of late.

As City fans it is only right we should moan and BOO as we should be winning everything and be top of the Premier League(and be in The Champions League too) and as someone posted should always be above the Forest no matter how well they are doing!!!!

One could tell from NP's post match comments that he wasnt very happy about the game,so who are we to argue with it??

He knows we were shit,no use moaing about individual performances as no one set the game alight did they?

Credit to the groundstaff and Co for getting the game on when bigger more established clubs couldnt be bothered to!!!

The team has no style of play, no leader, no way tactical .. . run Matty, run, run .. . so what ?

We win some points on individual technical exploits of King, rarely today Fryatt or because tired Howard put the head or his foot, players rarely build the actions together.

It is poor, annoying

I hope to see upfront Big Yann with Little Martyn

Must sell Gallagher, and Howard .. .

Nothing like a complete overreaction to start the day.

I think NP got his tactics wrong for this match, there was too much hoof to Howard, with little success. We got in good positions on many occassions but lacked a really decent final ball in to the box or killer pass. Overall a point was fair!!

Maybe he quantum leaped to the game from ten years ago?

We diddn't play to our strengths, or perhaps weren't allowed to play to our strengths, which for me, are to allow Lloyd and Matty to receive the ball with pace about ten yards inside the opponents half, and then encourage them to run with the ball towards the area, thus causing opposition defenders to panic over whether to dive in or back off.

It's not a complicated game really.

Their defence looked uncomfortable (almost as much as our full backs did) and that is why Waghorn should have been on the pitch longer. The ball needed to be on the floor more.

I'm happy with a point, out of 11 players I think at least 7 had an off day. Fryatt never got a chance, Dyer didn't get a chance to run much and Weale made some good saves. I dont think you can say much positive about anything else.

My brother said to me, "it shows that we are actually a good team". Because we played shit and still got a point

The fact NP and Keane were practically laughing with each other at the full time whistle about how bad it was means there is little to worry about for either team. It was just 'one of those games'.

Your continuous slating of our forwards every time Kermo does not start is becoming boring now. Perhaps you can elaborate as to what Howard did wrong yesterday and also the previous 3 matches that we won with him in the team. Bear in mind also that apart from one header at S****horpe, Big Yann as you call him hasn't even remotely looked like scoring.

Yes, we do need to use width. But it's surely abit unfair to say that we're only in our position down to luck. I'm now at the point that, were in the playoffs, we are up there due to merit. You said it yourself. We are hard to beat, for example we have had many 2-1 wins. Sometimes we concede first, and then grab 2 goals back, e.g. Swansea. Our squad has the charachter to win games, and not let their heads go down often. The times i went to watch Leicester during the 'dark days' of Kelly, Levein, Holloway, and came out extremely disappointed. Yes it'd be very nice to see someone different than dyer running down the wings with the ball, causing alot of problems with the fullbacks, Is it really nessesary. At the swansea game last week, NP bought Dany N'guessan on, and he didn't seem to be playing as a winger for the short tiime that he was on the pitch. It doesn't suit our playing style ;) Fair play to Ipswich, they came here to try and get points on the board, and they did play well, and stuck to their gameplan well..

Essay over :sweating:

Absolutely. Howard's been great in the last few games, battling hard and winning headers. The times we looked like scoring from a set piece was not because of the delivery of the ball, but because Howard got up and won the ball. Without him playing up front, we are a weaker team.

There seems to be a fair bit of criticism directed at the midfield, but credit to Ipswich, they didn't let us settle on the ball and pressed us continuously closing down space.

That and the fact that the ball was constantly hoofed past them from the defence to Howard at every opportunity.

absolute rubbish !!

no passion , no commitment , the heads went down after the early goal and they were looking around at each other moaning and groaning and wildly apportioning blame rather than giving constructive advice and encouragement and i wondered why half of them bothered to turn up

but that's leicester fans for you , and i suppose i should be used to it by now :)
