El Furio Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 We all seem agreed that McGivern and Nielson are not good enough. Why the hell has McGivern's loan been extended?? He's been garbage since he arrived!! What the hell has happened to Brown???? When are we going to play with two actual wingers????? Did Andy King actually touch the ball??????
skinnydipper Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 Sky Sports Steve Howard stats You learn something new everyday Scotland B international ? Also didn't realise that we paid such a big transfer fee for him
Fox92 Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 Very dissapointed with that one. We were poor and lucky not to have been punished. McGivern and Nielson are rubbish. Wouldn't have dropped Hobbs for Brown. Gallagher is not a winger!
Asha Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 absolute rubbish !! no passion , no commitment , the heads went down after the early goal and they were looking around at each other moaning and groaning and wildly apportioning blame rather than giving constructive advice and encouragement and i wondered why half of them bothered to turn up but that's leicester fans for you , and i suppose i should be used to it by now Love a good Zingari post.
Captain... Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 To those moaning at the moaners, the reason why there is so much negativity after a point against an in form side is that Ipswich looked crap, they were there for the beating and if we played like we have done this season we would have won that game. As fans we are frustrated that it is the same things which cost us points, being overrun on the flanks, poor quality set pieces, lack of composure on the ball.
Flynny Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 Not seen anyone else mention how exemplary their closing down and marking at the back was yet.

Bloody stupid leicester fans, you'd never see this sort of hate at other clubs especially at a recently promoted team that are 5th in the league. Makes me wonder why these people don't go and support chelsea or whatever if they want perfect football all the time. Reminds me of that group created 'martyn waghorn for england' by leicester fans after he had scored one goal or something back in august. just as premature.

But he makes a valid point about throw ins. Also what is the deal with his "long" throws? They are in fact pointless! We have never got anywhere from them, he is to Rory Delap what I am to Brad Pitt. We've done nothing from these long throw in's yet. He rarely passes to a blue shirt, today in L & K there were ironic cheers for him. I fear if he continues to play then I will start to hate him like I did Alan Rogers. L and K are probably the most Vocal parts of the ground. If you ask many supporters who aren't on this forum, you'll see the fact that even the old biddy behind me, was pissed off with him, and doesn't rate him. Once the crowd turn on a player, he'll lose confidence.

What's wrong with just airing your opinions at the game and talking about it with your mates? If, by some random chance (however unlikely) he saw that someone had gone to all that trouble making a FB group against him, how do you think that'd affect his confidence?! He needs to up his game to avoid the fans getting on his back during the match, but however shit he is playing, that sort of organised thing is just a rather offensive joke that's hardly positive for any "team moral" Pearson's trying to build. And in general, for God's sake give Pearson and co. a chance!!! Okay we're not playing any kind of good football or beating teams with ease, but WAKE UP: we're still in the play-off positions (higher than, I'll remind you, most people were expecting before the season). If we start dropping down the table THEN's the time to worry, not whilst we're still in 5th above such teams as Middlesborough and Sheff Utd and QPR... Also bear in mind that we're still above the two East Midland teams that haven't had a massive injection of catch-free cash to splash out on seemingly whichever players they want!
Edmund Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 Delaney: We should have wonDAMIEN Delaney today lamented Leicester City's 'lucky' equaliser that denied the Blues moving up two places in the table. Town had to settle for a Championship point at the Walkers Stadium after they took a 20-second lead and generally had control of the game, missing a number of good chances. Manager Roy Keane expressed his disappointment at a failure to score enough goals and said this is the over-riding reason they are 19th in the table. But if the visitors had kept out Steve Howard's 38th minute leveller they would have picked up their second away league win and made it three wins on the bounce. Central defender Delaney blamed himself in part for the goal as he failed to clear, but he added: “It was a lucky goal in many respects. “The ball came off my block and could have gone anywhere - to Arran (Lee-Barrett) or for a goal kick. “But it fell just right for the forward. It was the fellow in front of me I was trying to miss with my clearance. “I didn't see Howard coming in on the blind side. If I had known he was there I would have booted the ball into touch. “He charged the ball down, but I know I should have done better.” Delaney says that a second Town goal would have brought them full points. “It's disappointing we did not take our chances as we needed a second goal. “Some of the players I mark would have relished one or two of them, but some days they don't go in. “Grant Leadbitter struck a great ball across goal and how that was not touched in I don't know, and Jon (Walters) had a couple of second half opportunities. “When Leicester came to Portman Road in August they pressed and it was us that dug in. “Yesterday was much different and it was certainly not a case of us holding on to a 1-1. “It was us that put the pressure on in the last 20 minutes, which is a good sign. “Leicester had a couple of chances and we can't deny that, and to get a draw at a top six side is good. But we felt we did enough to win.” Delaney said that the pitch was wet but played well enough. He said: “It cut you went you went down and it seemed we were playing on razor blades and not grass. “We woke up this morning not as down as last night, and we have made rapid strides in the last six weeks or so. “Progress is being made.” what a load of tosh. If anything their goal was lucky.
shen Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 Delaney: “It was us that put the pressure on in the last 20 minutes, which is a good sign." Err what? We were camped in their half for the almost the entire second half. On a sidenote, he's one of very few Leicester rejects in recent times, that has gone on a done well since leaving us.
Lillehamring Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 what a load of tosh. If anything their goal was lucky. exactly, not to mention the definite penalty and the two attempts the came off the woodwork....
lildave3 Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 On the Set pieces thing, maybe the commentator said it because we've scored from corners in a couple of our televised games.
Daggers Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 I can't help but think there's a link between this (obviously) worst ever performance by a Leicester City side and the Labour government. There's only one solution: Ultra - resign your position forthwith. Do it for the fans.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 One main problem is not eho to play but who to drop. King has played all right lately, Wellens has a good couple of cames before Ipswich and Oakey picked up a bit after looking poor and hes captain. I want to see wingers like N'Guessan or Adams playing at the start with Dyer, but its difficult. I would drop either Wellens or Oakey for N'Guessan.

I mean we all have our petty arguments on here but you seem to be obsessed with Ultra. Every other thread he posts in you have to make some half arsed comment about politics or the council when the subjects not even being discussed. Your comments aren't even funny. Give it a rest.
Bert Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 Not seen anyone else mention how exemplary their closing down and marking at the back was yet. I have mentioned it somewhere, but only briefly. We could never really get going today because Fryatt was pretty much always tightly marked and Howard always had 2 men on him.

When are we going to play with two actual wingers????? Did Andy King actually touch the ball?????? 1. Erm, let's see. Maybe because Bruno Berner has been quite injury prone this season and is currently out injured. 2. Wayne Brown has never been able to pass a ball or defend against tricky forwards. 3. We're not. 4. It's pretty pathetic that you have to ask that sort of question anyway considering you already know the answer, but you're right that King could not get into the game yesterday, but neither could Wellens hence his substitution. It seems to be the scene thing for morons to state that King was anonymous, but if the midfield was not bypassed everytime the ball was at our defenders feet then perhaps you wouldn't have had to make such a ridiculous remark. As for my opinion on the game overall, I walked away from the Walkers quite dispirited that we'd put in such a disjointed performance but relieved that we hadn't lost the game after the start we made. Neilson was woeful and although he's an easy target for abuse, I can't remember him doing anything right in particular. Right back is such an important position in any team, but in our side it's probably the most vital. The amount of matches this season in which our right back has had so much space so frequently going forward without creating anything remotely near a goal is frightening. I'm thinking Morrison vs Derby and Neilson in countless games other than yesterday. If I was Pearson I'd be looking for a right-back with some footballing ability this January. Failing that, I'd move Oakley there. Brown was poor and did nothing to suggest that he deserved his recall over Hobbs. Didn't look very comfortable against the 16 year old Wickham and was equally shaky on the ball, although Ipswich did a great job closing him down at any opportunity. Hopefully teams didn't take note of that because its a sure-fire way to instil panic throughout our side. Oakley and Gallagher we're clearly trying to outdo each other in the crap crossing competition but Gally's last chance corner cut out by the first man took the biscuit for me. Glad we got the point in the end, a couple of our players deserved it.

Agree with most of that, re Brown though I personally don't rate him at all but I also feel that Hobbs can only play in one position and that's the right CB, he's looked awful when he was at RB and equally inept at left CB especially in the previous game. I think Pearson believes only Brown, in the absence of Tunchev can play left CB spot. Personally I'd sooner see McGivern given a run at left CB with either Hobbs or Morrison at right CB. Of course we could always go further and play Morrison, Hobbs, McGivern, Berner.

No it doesnt. You blew what i said completely out of context. The fact is. We've seen Morrison play. He's a capable Right back. When i hear Neilson's name read out on the team sheet, i get nervous. As do many people in the stadium.

At the minute, I'm sure a few would take Morrison at centre back, leaving Neilson at right back, than shift Morrison to right back, leaving Brown in the centre. For me, recently, Brown is more of a liability than Neilson.

So true, after his performance at the Swansea match the last place he should of been was on that pitch. And after 21 seconds of play he proved that point. He does not have the pace at the moment, loosing to many balls.
