rams r4 sh*ggin Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 If Mandaric hadn't bought us some other investor would have done, the club has massive potential. well after all this maybe now just maybe we can show it.
davieG Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 didnt see a rush ov people lining up to buy us. the crippling debts from the ground was a huge burden on us We weren't actually for sale. Greg Clarke a then board member and share holder and current football league chairmen resigned rather than approve Mandaric's takeover I doubt he would have been against it if he thought the club would fold without Mandaric's input.

fatmando Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Nige will get a very warm reception from me next week at the Walkers. Massive respect for him. Hope we thrash his new team though. :sweden:
smudger63 Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 All that Pearson has done, is just confirmed pretty much what we already knew, hasn`t he? At the end of the day, whats done is done, time for us to move on, and more importantly, time for some of our players to move on, who i think had maybe got a little grievance with sousa, who they would feel had done the dirty on pearson, by allowing himself to be corted by mandric, and possibly thai consortium, while pearson was still here trying to get us through the play offs. Hopefully now sousa`a gone, the players will now knuckle down, stop sulking and start the season from here on in! Today was a start!
unreachable Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 I still don’t believe that we have heard the definitive version of why Pearson left. Pearson’s stock was high and he may have felt that MM would not invest sufficiently to sustain the club’s high league position and his own high reputation. Life is full of lost opportunities and NP may have felt that Hull gave him the best opportunity in the short term. He must have known that a takeover or incoming investment was being sought – we as fans certainly did. MM and NP were negotiating a new contract during the course of the season and for whatever reason one was not signed. A lot has been made of Leicester giving him permission to speak to Hull but MM may have gone as far as he could have done in his contractual negotiations and NP would have walked into the arms of whomsoever offered enough money and future prospects to him. The coincidence of NP’s interview today before we play Hull City next time may be significant. NP will use the media when it suits him to ensure a good reception from Leicester fans and to take the spotlight away from him and onto his new team. The fact remains that NP was under contract and was not sacked. He resigned. For fans pressing their noses against the windows of the club and taking titbits from here and there to claim they know the truth is something I don’t understand. Set up a judicial inquiry with QCs interrogating all relevant parties under oath and we might get a bit closer! It’s always interesting to speculate but that’s about as far it goes in my opinion. Before I will agree that something is a fact I need a very high burden of proof to be met.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Isn't this basically what Bert and co told us months ago? Why are people shocked? in one ear and out the other Spot on Bert as usual.
m00nie Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 pearson was 2 managers ago now.. why is it all arising now.. to stir things up ?? we will never 100% get the full picture so should leave it all in the past.. concentrate on the present and look forward to the future to shouting pearson pearson whats the score when were beating them at home in 2 weeks...

Exactly. People want black and white and can't understand that history is full of shades of grey - it depends on your own perspective. Historiography.

He thought he got stitched up with Sousa, but probably couldn't be 100% sure. When he saw the exact same thing happen to Sousa he probably realised he wasn't imagining it and decided to speak out.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 he saved our club no doubt about tht but time has shown his true colours. to back stab np like he did makes me sick tht he is associated with my beloved city. milan should stand up admit hes a total tosser and let the thai's bring in some1 who has heart for the club as chairman....... m.george back??? any1? Good old Mark Lawrenson put it into perspective on football focus today... 'If Milan keeps getting rid of managers, why doesn't he do the job then?' - obviously wouldn't want that to happen but Lawro speaks some truth IMO
Fox92 Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 I'll clap him as will everybody else. He did a great job for Leicester. I had mixed opinions on this subject but after hearing Pearson talk, I would have done exactly the same. It seemed like the owners were shown around the club behind his back and Sousa being taken to both Cardiff games is a bit disgraceful. I feel for Nigel because it sounds as if he wasn't wanted at the club, and after all that he did, its abit sad really. Still hope we thrash him when we play him though.
The Doctor Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 didnt see a rush ov people lining up to buy us. the crippling debts from the ground was a huge burden on us what do you mean was? Those debts are still there.
CosbehFox Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 what do you mean was? Those debts are still there. Times ten. £40 million worth now!
Webbo Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 I switched the radio off at 6. If they put it on the internet will someone post a link. Pearson.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Just heard his comments on the bbc website, right shit-stirrer. Radio Leicester shouldn't have gone chasing him for an interview, let bygones be bygones. Pearson should be bothering about his own team that are performing poorly and not listening to "what people have been saying". Mandaric and Hoos may have acted like complete wazzocks, but there is no doubting Pearson is a difficult character. Hope Sven and the boys can hand him a healthy defeat in a couple of weeks time.
Ricey Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Pearson quotes and audio Glad this has got out in the press, will show MM for the back-stabber he is. I'll be at the Hull game and will give both Sven and Nigel a good reception.
C-man Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Seems to point the finger at Hoos. Hardly surprising as from what I've heard Hoos was the main cvnt in the cupboard.
Unabomber Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Hoos is a cunt. Pearson at the very least deserved to be told about the situation, but to do it all on the sly behind his back is way too disrespectful to someone who did so much for us.
Webbo Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Why would MM want to get rid of a successful manager though? Why didn't Pearson sign the contract that he admitted he been offered and apparently agreed to sign? Please don't tell me that the Thais wanted Paulo Sousa because he was a high profile manager because he wasn't and I doubt very much whether they'd ever heard of him. There's far more to this than we're being told.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Hoos is an absolute ****. I don't really want him at the club anymore after listening to that, what a prize arse. MM not much better...I hope these Thai guys can be trusted, or else I imagine there might be a lynch mob out for MM!!! Showing the consortium around when Nigel is on holiday...that speaks volumes for them both, utter gits. Svens Blue Army!
Prospero Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Why has Pearson spoken out now? It is because his return to the Walkers will be a very emotional occasion for him. His time here was the most successful and enjoyable period of his managerial career and he knew the fans valued him. He restored our pride in the club. He is not trying to score points before the match; he is letting the Leicester fans know that he really wanted to stay and that he resigned because it was clear that the club did not value him and he thought that he was likely to lose his job if he did not move to Hull. I believe him to be an honest and straightforward individual. I will certainly be applauding his return, whilst cheering on our team and hoping we win by the largest margin possible. I know his tenure as manager is now history. I welcome the appointment of Sven, whose vast experience and contacts can only be beneficial. However, Pearson - despite his lack of an international reputation - is the one since MO’N who has set the Leicester managerial bar at the highest level. I hope Sven and the owners’ money will see us return to the premier league; it is possible. But I do feel for Pearson. His return will be more difficult for him than the fans. Call me sentimental! Meanwhile the future is yet to come.

Salieri Posted 2 October 2010 Posted 2 October 2010 Cannot understand any negative comments towards NP. Yes, we have moved on as has he, but let's respect what he did for the club. He should get nothng but a very warm reception.
