Guest BlueBrett Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Speaking to people before the match last night I think most agreed that it was a massive game for Paul Gallagher, one which could be pivotal in his Leicester City career. Unfortunately his performance was below par again and he simply did not raise his game in line with the efforts of the rest of the team. Given that Waghorn is now a permanent Leicester City player, Fryatt is now recovered from injury and soon to return from suspension, Howard scored last night and in any case provides a dimension to our play that Gally simply can't offer, Darius Vassell has now signed and we are apparently in the market for another striker, is it likely that Gallagher will ever get another opportunity to make his mark in the team? Don't get me wrong I think he comes accross as a really nice guy and I do believe that he is a talented footballer. I just feel that he may have blown his chance at this club and I wonder what the rest of you believe the future holds for Paul Gallagher?
Babylon Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 He's been struggling since his injury, said so himself the other day that he's not been feeling right.
Christoph Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Simply dont think he's good enough for first team commitments, if he doesnt mind coming on off the bench every so often then thats cool, but I dont think he should be starting many games in the future as his goal scoring ability is hardly the best
Ric Flair Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I'd not lose much sleep over it. He's not shown anywhere near the same ability here as he did at Stoke a few years back. He has talent but I think he's done and dusted for us.
Stevosevic Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 A shame, technically he is very good but in this division he doesn't get enough time on the ball. A few moments of brilliance versus Forest, Scunny, Palace and Watford, but not a lot else.
fosseman Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Solid squad player i'm afraid It's not surprising he had so many clubs. I'm afraid he lacks the "killer" instinct to be successful at this level. Pity because he has some skill.
Tilley Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I didn't rate him when we splashed the cash on him and I still don't. Wouldn't be sad to see him go whatsoever.
foxoffderby Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 My least favourite forward player. Far too much Hollywood little end product.
sdb Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 he's ok, good when on form. can see him being very useful to us, but not a player i'd rely on week in week out.
MattyFromLE Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I think he's technically gifted, if only his technique matched his decision making. Excellent shot, just i think makes some silly decisions
ousefox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Absolutely terrible yesterday, lost the ball nearly every time he got it.
STUHILL Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I was very happy when we signed him. I saw him play at Stoke and few other times and thought he was best player on the pitch BUT he hasn't shown anything like that kind of form and I struggle to see where his best position is. He seems to light weight and although is skillfull, has no real pace to beat his man. I think he will still be given more chances but like Fryatt, I think his days are numbered unless he starts vastly improving!!
unreachable Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Has been receiving consistently poor reviews from all and sundry. I'm tired of hearing the epithets of "talented" " skilful" "technically gifted". My heart sinks when I hear his name on the teamsheet because you know that you are in for a limp apathetic performance. Next to useless.
Fosse Boy Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Last game in a City shirt is an overreaction to say the least. The guy can do a job for us and I hope he sees his future here, but sadly if he's going to want to start every week it probably won't be.
ajthefox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Wouldn't be bothered if he has already played his last game in all honesty but he will almost undoubtedly continue to feature to some extent. Supposed to be tchnically good but I've not seen anything to prove this. He's scored a few cracking goals but that doesn't really mean anything, anyone can hit a beauty once or twice a season. Plus, no-one even knows where he plays best, I'll bet even he doesn't.

davbison Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I think the biggest problem we have with Gally is not knowing where his best position is. Certainly not as a winger, and hardly set the world alight up front. I think he's mentioned his ideal position is as an attacking midfielder in the hole, but considering we either play 4-3-3/4-5-1 or 4-4-2, I just can't see him fitting in.
Bettsj2 Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 He's got no pace, can't tackle, rubbish in the air, inconsistent, cant seem to do anything in a simple way and despite proclaiming that his best position is as a striker, every time he's played there he looks like he's playing out of position and never looks like scoring. Yes he has some skill but he is just a complete luxury player. He would excell in games where we're 3 or 4 nil up and cruising so he can do some party tricks but aside from that he has no value. Wouldn't mind if he were to leave.
lildave3 Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 People know my feelings on this guy so I don't need to go into any detail. I'm going to anyway. He's shit, i've never liked him and he just pisses me off.
Wymsey Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I think he has lost his enthusiasm to play for us like he did last year.
Corky Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 He is a bit too "luxury" for my liking. If we can get in an able replacement then we should move him on.
martyn Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 He's obviously a decent technical footballer but unfortunately, he can only really play in 1 position, in the hole behind the striker(s). I said to my Dad the other day, under Sven, he'll be one of the first players under immediate threat.
