Stringer says too many loanees and here's the rules that say nothing about international loans being anything but standard

League website

This is correct so all those posters spitting their dummies out find out the facts first please. So back to original discussion - who will miss out?

Says only 5 Players allowed in a match day squad but 8 overall

Can't be arsed to read the whole thread has anyone pointed out yet that Fryatt scored more than Bednar last season?

Bednar:

26 (6) games - 11 goals http://www.wba.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10366~33884,00.html

Fryatt:

30 (4) games - 13 goals http://www.lcfc.com/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10274~23848,00.html

He has barely played under Sven and has had a few knocks and injuries in the last 12 months he deserves his chance. To be honest I am a little disappointed by the way the players that served us so well for the last 2 seasons have been treated, Hobbs, Morrison, Fryatt, Berner, now it looks like Weale is next for the chop. It reminds of the 2005-2008 when we had no consistency in the team.

I'm getting the same feeling regarding your last sentence, worrying!

The OS says he will wear shirt no. 9 ...... The same as Howard!

Mistake or is someone trying to tell us something?

maybe if Fryatt is going Howard will become 12 and Bednar 9 :dunno:

Good signing, I'm happy with it however, he's a striker is he an out and out goalscorer?! Because that's what we need, goalscorers and I thought he had a better record than he has but I heard the other day his best season consisted of 13 goals and that was in Scotland!! Think we could do with more than 13 and the Championship is better than the Scottish league by far!

Happy, can't be any worse than what we have but prove my worries wrong!

i'd quite like to see bednar and fryatt up front - fryatt was at his best when he had someone to play off, howard can't and hasn't been able to do that for sometime now (at least not like he used to). i'm hoping bednar will kick start fyatts season.

but he playedthe mojaraty of games for a team who would have won this division with ease last season if there wasnt such a massive team as newcastle in it

Very happy with this signing. I think blessing in disguise as Miller is so injury prone. Bednar is fit and seems like he has something to prove and wanted this loan move. I think he will help bring Waghorn and Vassel in to the game similar to Howard but offers more in scoring goals than big Steve. Good bit of business and obviously liked by WBA fans which is always a good sign. Only criticism if he should have been in early but I know Sven was waiting on Miller.

Bet he starts Monday. Sven doesn't hang around chucking them straight in

It would be interesting to see. Hope Matty buckles down now that he's missed the chance to move on, and really sharpens up over the next 2 months.

West Brom striker Roman Bednar insists he will not return to The Hawthorns after his loan spell with Leicester at the Walkers Stadium expires.

Bednar agreed a switch to the Foxes on Wednesday and has joined the Championship outfit until January.

The 27-year-old believes that he has lost the support of Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo and will therefore not make a Hawthorns comeback.

"Once the (West Brom) manager let me go, my vision is not to return to West Bromwich. I don't feel confidence in me from him anymore," he told CTK.

"At the moment I just want to be happy and play regularly. I think I have made the right decision.

"This loan has been settled so that I don't warm the bench. I will be doing my best and believe I will gain ground at Leicester."

The Foxes are currently 17th the Championship but Bednar believes Sven-Goran Eriksson's side are capable of better things.

"The team is of a high quality and, in my opinion, should be somewhere else in the table," he added.

On his Swedish manager, he remarked: "I have decided for Leicester not only because of the manager but also because it takes me just 45 minutes to get there from my home, so I don't need to move.

"In the worst case I will be spending the nights ahead of games in a hotel.

"He is a high-quality manager who has a great record of teams he has coached previously.

"After a long time I enjoyed a training session with a smile on my face."

Bednar will have stern competition with Darius Vassell, Martyn Waghorn, Matty Fryatt and Steve Howard also attacking options.

He said: "I know all of them. I consider them high-quality forwards but am not afraid of competition.

"It's good for me but, as I said before, I've not moved to Leicester to just warm the bench."

Looks like Bednar is joining us and not Miller according to todays Mercury. I'm happy with that, a proper centre forward. It still doesn't give us any further pace though that Sven wanted but perhaps there'll be a pacey player coming in as well.

I've always liked this fella good luck to him.

Hi all,

I've read all this thread and am very Happy to have Bender in the squad.

What I simply don't understand is how we can have a team of loanees?

I thought you were only allowed five?

Sven has got it wrong here methinks.

If anybody could shed any light on the proper rules this would be good.

Sorry couldn't resist.
