Viper7513 Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 So according to SPN he is out in January on a free! Thoughts??
paddy Agyemang Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 great defender should keep him if not get something for him because he is a lot better than a lot of defenders in the championship
Tommy G Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Too old now and will only get worse rather than better. Last time I saw him play was again WBA and giles barnes made it look like he was a sunday league player
Viper7513 Posted 20 December 2010 Author Posted 20 December 2010 Although our back line is rented, then maybe plans must be in motion to make certain members permanent. It is only for this reason you would allow your fixed members to move on!
Jimmy Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Although our back line is rented, then maybe plans must be in motion to make certain members permanent. It is only for this reason you would allow your fixed members to move on! Kennedy comes back from his loan in January so we'd still have cover at left back, Berner has served us well so I have no problem with the club letting him go find 1st team football elsewhere
Corky Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 He's been a good servant over the last couple of years, generally reliable defensively, supports the attack and chips in with a goal. However he's struggled this season and it's probably for the best that he moves on. I wish him well in the future.
OmnipresentSam Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Slow news day if Bruno is getting reported on! I suppose the lad wants to play as many games as he can nearing the end of his career. He's been a good player for a couple of years, but it's time to let him go I'd say.
Father Ted Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 You know what, I have nothing but praise for Bruno. He came in to the club, willing to play in any position. He covered all over the park, in the middle, on the wing and at left-back. He has always been solid and reliable and has never let us down. Unfortunately, in this day there are not many players with Bruno's attitude nowadays. Fair play to him for wanting first team football, top man. Good luck Bruno.
bettso Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 He wants to leave so what we or the club want is now irrelevant. Berner was excellent for us up until this season so he leaves on good terms. Unfortunately for him, we are now in a position where we are looking for a higher calibre of player.
Finnegan Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Too old now and will only get worse rather than better. Last time I saw him play was again WBA and giles barnes made it look like he was a sunday league player Yep. Nobody doubts he has been good for us, but he's starting to look over the hill.
Ozwin Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Didn't look good under Sousa, but who did? Who knows he might have been decent had Sven given him a chance and I doubt you just lose your touch over 1 summer, he was a great performer in the playoffs and I reckon he'd still have it if he didn't have such a capable player to compete with in Cunningham, who I assume we'll be signing.
fosseman Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 His legs have gone. Great shame as he's an intelligent player.
Edmund Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 I bet you he ends up at Hull on a 6 month contract. Fairplay to him wanting first team football.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Bruno BERNER - i think has been fantastic for us over the last couple of seasons, good luck to him wherever he goes (unless its F***st)
MrSpaM Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 He dosn't sound happy at all on the moan in tonight
Captain... Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Good luck, Bruno, I don't blame him at all, I think we have treated him poorly since Sven took over and he deserved a chance to prove he could still cut it at this level. I wouldn't be surprised if a few others follow. If this does mean we sign Cunningham then great, that is the kind of talent we never could have attracted without Sven, Davies and Naughton too.
FoxyPV Posted 21 December 2010 Posted 21 December 2010 Giles Barnes, on a good day, would make most players in this league look shite. I'll be sad if he goes.
Fox92 Posted 21 December 2010 Posted 21 December 2010 He wants first team football and good luck to him. He has been great for the club and even scored a few important goals last season (Palace away etc)
MPH Posted 21 December 2010 Posted 21 December 2010 He has been a terrific servant of this club. Loved watching him. However every new manager brings in his own players and has their particular style and Sven's style relies on pace.Bruno is intelligent, comitted but is not renowned for his pace. He hasn't become a bad player overnight.... he just doesn't have pace. I am glad he wants first team football and doesn't just want to sit on the bench and pick up a Pay cheque. Good for him. All the best, Bruno. Thank you.
ajthefox Posted 21 December 2010 Posted 21 December 2010 Still think he could probably do a job but fair play to him for being open and saying he wants to leave because he isn't happy sitting on the bench. Has been a solid player for u and seems like a genuine bloke too. All the best for he future Bruno.
Koke Posted 21 December 2010 Posted 21 December 2010 His attitude was always top class. He was willing to put in a shift wherever he was told to play - be it centre mid, left wing, left back etc. He would get 10/10 for effort every single game. Never moaned that he was playing out of position, or even if he was dropped. He's a top professional and a great man who has been a good servant for the club. Wish him well in the future.
Wymsey Posted 21 December 2010 Posted 21 December 2010 Top bloke, i say he's better defending than Cunningham who likes to go forward more but its Sven's choice obviously. He's had done well for us though
