J.Lisemore Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Hes not worth £3 Million. Good player though.
Simmo86 Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Prefer Boyd. Mackail-Smith misses a lot of chances!
dave_the_fox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Lazy journalism is my guess, bet it was Nigel Pearson who put that bid in last season
Mack Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Lower league player who is not as good as Fryatt in my opinion.
Ashley Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 This is old news, he had a bid rejected for him at the start of last season. We have bigger fish to catch than Mackail-Smith.
Toby or not Toby Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Probably lazy journalism, Fry said he would of sold us Mackail-Smith for £1.5 presumably last summer. Sky Sports
Guest ttfn Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Prefer Boyd. Mackail-Smith misses a lot of chances! THEY ALL MISS A LOT OF CHANCES! THAT'S WHY THEY'RE LOWER LEAGUE PLAYERS! Also, CMS is not going to improve us. A harder working, but less skilful version of Fryatt. If he's the "big" name we've been told is coming then we've been mislead as to the meaning of the word "big".
Fox92 Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 If true, I'd take him. He's a former non league footballer so he is proud to be playing in the higher divisions like Steve Howard. From what I have seen of him, he chases lost balls and would most probably add some energy. Maybe a type of pest for the defenders. Not sure if he would score a lot of goals though, but you never know. Look at Steve Morison at Millwall.

cambridgefox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Friend of mine is a peterboring supporter, misses a lot of chances, but creates alot due to his pace. A year ago i would have said yes,but with svens connections and possibly £10 mill to spend,i would aim the bar a little higher.
Bourne Blue& White Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Lower league player who is not as good as Fryatt in my opinion. Agree with above Hes Ok at Div 3 or lower, but did not do a lot last season in Div 2 (championship). Would not improve us at all.
Wymsey Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 We are either trying to sign well known players or ones that do well a division below us. We need someone who knows how to play in this division.
MPH Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Its quite a long name though. Oooh..... attempt to make more money from shirt sales by the Thais... crafty buggers....
ajthefox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 I doubt this is a move Sven or the thais made, seems odd to me. He's a barely average championship player and their price tag is abserd. Waggy was expensive as it is.
Thor Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Agree with above Hes Ok at Div 3 or lower, but did not do a lot last season in Div 2 (championship). Would not improve us at all. Seconded - or thirded. He's nowhere near as good as Fryatt. What is Sven doing bidding for him?
Simmo86 Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Seconded - or thirded. He's nowhere near as good as Fryatt. What is Sven doing bidding for him? You don't know he is, its only a rumour in the paper. If we'd signed everybody we've been linked with since Svennis joined we'd have a squad of about 100
nickelbyfox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Linked with Mackail-Smith Shows it was a while back the bid for him, so was either Pearson or Sousa but wasn't Sven. People jumping all over Sven due to some lazy or easily misinterpreted journalism!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Would be a bad signing. No better than what we have got, and misses too many chances. If he was that good, he would have been snapped up by now. Same with George Boyd, very good League 1 player, but went to Forest and did relatively nothing as he couldnt get into the team.
Jimmy Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 decent player but not for our system George Boyd is class however
Guest ttfn Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 decent player but not for our system George Boyd is class however Honestly, he's not. He's a flat track bully. Have a look at the teams he's scored against in the last 3 years. 90% are in the bottom half of the table. If he was as good as everyone says he would have got in that forest team last yr when they couldn't buy a win away
Matt Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 No fooking way. £1.5...Don't make me laugh, is he even worth 0.5?! Sven are you taking the piss?

If he was as good as everyone says he would have got in that forest team last yr when they couldn't buy a win away their wingers and attacking midfielders are some of their best players. Can you honestly say that Boyd wouldn't offer more then Gallagher or Vassell have done from a wide position and Dyer has since his injury/winter set in?

A mate from work is a Posh fan. We used to have good conversations around the "Lloyd v Boyd" debate. There is no longer a conversation. He's conceded he'd rather have Lloyd.
